Chief Secretary Reviews MoU Implementation, Urges Land Bank Expansion
Chief Secretary chairs fortnightly review meeting on implementation of MoUs signed during ‘Rising Rajasthan’ Global Investment Summit- 2024 -Chief Secretary directs officials to prioritize creation of land banks in key districts with high concentration of MoUs
Jaipur : Chief Secretary Shri Sudhansh Pant chaired a review meeting on thursday to take stock of the implementation of MoUs signed during the ‘Rising Rajasthan’ Global Investment Summit- 2024. Expressing satisfaction with the progress on MoUs implementation since the last fortnightly review meet he chaired on February 13, Shri Pant directed officials to create land banks of available government land parcels and put them online for easy access to the investors.
Commending the steps taken RIICO to create a land bank and expeditiously allot land parcels to the investors, Shri Pant directed the other land allotting departments such as Revenue, UDH and LSG to explore ways to create separate online land banks.
The Chief Secretary also said that the creation of land banks should be prioritized in key districts that have high concentration of MoUs. Ahead of the launch of RIICO’s Direct Land Allotment Portal (DLAP), the Chief Secretary also directed various departments to expedite creating land allotment-related task for the remaining investors.
The Chief Secretary also directed the officials to explore ways in which large solar parks can be developed in the state which can house several companies from the Energy sector that signed MoUs during the investment summit. Shri Pant said that the proposed solar parks, spread in an area of several acres, will help streamline and expedite the process of land allotment to various Energy sector companies.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Secretary said, “Land allotment is one of the crucial milestones in setting up of a business unit. The key departments having large parcels of government land should expedite the creation of online land banks to enhance transparency and accountability. In view of a large number of MoUs signed in the Energy sector, the departments should explore setting up large solar parks on the lines of RIICO industrial areas that can house several energy companies and expedite their MoU implementation.”
Shri Pant also directed the Department Secretaries to diligently review MoU implementation on a weekly basis and upload the information related to their progress on the MoU Implementation portal.
It is worth noting that during the investment summit held from 9-11 December last year, the government had signed record investment proposals worth INR 35 lakh crore. Implementation work on MoUs worth 1.66 lakh crore began in a record period of about two months, which is about 5 percent of the amount of MoUs signed during the investment summit.
