“Mohan Charan Majhi Sworn In as Odisha’s First BJP Chief Minister”
Four-time MLA and tribal leader Mohan Charan Majhi has made history as the first BJP Chief Minister of Odisha. Odisha Governor Raghubar Das administered the swearing-in ceremony, which took place at Janata Maidan in Bhubaneswar.
This event marks a new chapter for the state, which has been under the leadership of the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) for 24 years. Many major BJP leaders, including PM Modi, attended the swearing-in ceremony. Along with Majhi, Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo and Pravati Parida also took oath as the Deputy Chief Ministers, with Parida becoming the first woman Deputy Chief Minister of Odisha.
In addition to the Chief Minister and two Deputy Chief Ministers, eight Cabinet Ministers and five Ministers of State (with independent charge) also took the oath of office.
