“Dr. Dnyandev Mhaske Appointed New Vice-Chancellor of Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil University”

Mumbai: The Governor of Maharashtra and Chancellor of State Universities, Ramesh Bais, has appointed Dr. Dnyandev Kundlik Mhaske as the new Vice-Chancellor of Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil University, Satara. Dr. Mhaske is currently the Principal of Dhananjayrao Gadgil College of Commerce, Satara.

Dr. D. T. Shirke, the Vice-Chancellor of Shivaji University, Kolhapur, was the first Vice-Chancellor of the newly formed Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil University, Satara. Prof. Shirke was appointed to the post by a government order dated October 21, 2022, and received two extensions on October 11, 2023, and April 13, 2024.

The Governor constituted a Search Committee under the chairmanship of Dr. S.S. Mantha, former Chairman of AICTE, New Delhi, to recommend a panel of names for the Vice-Chancellor position. The committee included Dr. Anil Appasaheb Patil, Chairman of Rayat Shikshan Sanstha, Satara, Prof. Dr. Shivajirao Kadan, Chancellor of Bharati Vidyapeeth, Pune, Vikas Chandra Rastogi, Principal Secretary to the Government, Higher and Technical Education Department, and Prof. Ganga Prasad Prasain, Vice-Chancellor of Tripura University (UGC Nominee).

Dr. Mhaske has been appointed as Vice-Chancellor for a period of five years from the date he assumes the post or until he attains the age of 65 years, whichever is earlier.
