“CM Shinde Promises Aid and Jobs for Versova Bridge Accident Victims’ Families”

Chief Minister Eknath Shinde today visited the accident site at the construction area under the Versova bridge, a project undertaken by the MMRDA to channel Surya project water to Mira-Bhayandar. He met with the relatives of the victims and offered his condolences. Chief Minister Shinde announced that L&T company would provide Rs. 50 lakhs to the victims’ families and offer a job to one family member.
The accident occurred at the construction site where a JCB operator, Rakesh Yadav, is trapped under the debris along with the JCB. Rescue operations are being conducted on a war footing, with fire brigade battalions, the Indian Navy, the Indian Army, NDRF, and the Thane disaster relief force all deployed. Experts from VJTI are also assisting in the rescue efforts.
After inspecting the site, Chief Minister Shinde expressed confidence that the experienced Indian Navy and Army personnel would succeed in rescuing Yadav. If Yadav is found deceased, his family will receive Rs. 50 lakhs from L&T and a job offer for one family member. Chief Minister Shinde also met Yadav’s family, including his wife, two daughters, and father, and directed the district collector, Bodake, to arrange their shelter.
