Continuous Learning is Key to Effective Leadership: CM Vishnu Deo Sai

CM Sai Inaugurates Two-Day Public Leadership Program for Chhattisgarh MLAs at Indian Institute of Management

Special Training for MLAs to Strengthen Leadership Skills

Raipur : Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai inaugurated a two-day Public Leadership Program at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Raipur, organized for the members of the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly. Addressing the inaugural session, he emphasized the need for continuous learning, stating, “We may have differences of opinion, but there should never be differences of heart. The development of Chhattisgarh is our ultimate goal, and as public representatives, we must remain dedicated to serving the people.”

Learning Has No Age, Leadership Must Continuously Evolve

CM Sai highlighted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi often speaks about the importance of lifelong learning. He stated, “There is no age for learning. Many legislators here have years of experience, yet they are eager to participate in this program. Your presence today reflects your deep concern and enthusiasm for Chhattisgarh’s development.”

He further stressed that a leader’s greatest asset is their interaction with the public, which strengthens trust in both the leader and the democratic system.

Training Program to Help Achieve ‘Developed Chhattisgarh 2047’

CM Sai called the Public Leadership Program a crucial platform for sharing innovative solutions and an important step toward achieving the goal of a ‘Developed Chhattisgarh by 2047’. He outlined the state government’s efforts toward good governance, highlighting how initiatives like e-office systems have enhanced administrative efficiency and transparency. He stressed the importance of technological advancements in public service and the need for leaders to be well-equipped to tackle emerging challenges.

Reflecting on the Chintan Shivir (Policy Retreat) held at IIM Raipur last year, CM Sai said, “The insights we gained from the retreat have greatly contributed to Chhattisgarh’s policymaking, including in drafting the vision document and the state budget.” He urged all MLAs to make the most of the two-day leadership training and congratulated IIM Raipur on organizing the event successfully.

Speaker Dr. Raman Singh Emphasizes Lifelong Learning for Legislators

Chhattisgarh Assembly Speaker, Dr. Raman Singh, praised the MLAs’ commitment, noting that after an intense month-long budget session, they immediately engaged in this leadership program. Addressing a common perception, he said, “Some may wonder why training is necessary after winning elections. But in reality, winning increases our responsibilities and requires us to keep learning.”

Dr. Singh highlighted that legislators should not only focus on their constituencies but also work for the overall progress of Chhattisgarh. He also stressed the importance of awareness about local, national, and global developments, stating that a legislator’s success depends on their deep understanding of their region and beyond.

Leader of Opposition Stresses That Leadership is a Learning Process

Leader of Opposition, Dr. Charan Das Mahant, stated that becoming an MLA does not automatically make someone a leader. He emphasized, “Leadership is a process that we must continuously learn and refine. The journey of a tribal boy from Jashpur becoming the Chief Minister is a testament to the strength of our democracy.”

He reiterated that all political leaders must remain committed to Chhattisgarh’s progress and work collectively for its advancement.

The event was attended by Chhattisgarh Assembly members, NITI Aayog CEO B.V.R. Subramaniam, IIM Raipur Director Ram Kumar, and Professors Sumeet Gupta, Sanjeev Parashar, and Archana Parashar.
