Empowering the Differently-Abled Through Various Schemes – CM Devendra Fadnavis
Nagpur : Prime Minister Narendra Modi has laid out a clear policy for the welfare of the differently-abled. His vision aims to ensure that they receive employment, education, and other essential opportunities through various government schemes. The Maharashtra Government has also introduced several initiatives in this regard, with a focus on the proper utilization of reserved funds for their welfare, stated Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
The State-Level Para Sports Competition was organized at Reshimbagh Ground in Nagpur by the Commissionerate for the Welfare of Persons with Disabilities (Pune), the Directorate of Sports, and the Late Prabhakar Datke Memorial Service Organization. CM Fadnavis visited the event today and interacted with the participants, offering his guidance and encouragement.
The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from para-athletes, which CM Fadnavis described as highly inspiring. He assured continuous efforts to resolve the challenges faced by organizations working for the differently-abled. The government is committed to understanding their difficulties and implementing necessary solutions, he added.
Highlighting the achievements of Indian para-athletes, CM Fadnavis noted their remarkable performances in the Paralympics, where they won several medals across various sports. He emphasized that these athletes would receive due recognition and honor in the near future. The spirit of teamwork is more important than victory or defeat in any sport, he said, adding that individuals who develop a strong team spirit excel in all fields of life. Participation itself holds great significance, he remarked.
The event was attended by Minister of State Ashish Jaiswal, MLA Pravin Datke, Late Prabhakarrao Datke Trust head Subhash Raut, District Collector Dr. Vipin Itankar, Chief Executive Officer of the Zilla Parishad Vinayak Mahamuni, and para-athletes from various parts of the state.
