F.P.O. Fair to Showcase a Unique Blend of Organic and Processed Food Products
Three-Day Farmer Producer Organization (F.P.O.) Fair in Raipur from March 26
Agriculture Minister Ramvichar Netam to Inaugurate the Event
Raipur : A three-day Farmer Producer Organization (F.P.O.) Fair-cum-Exhibition is set to take place at Indira Gandhi Agricultural University in Raipur to promote F.P.O.s in Chhattisgarh and spread awareness about organic and processed agricultural products. The fair will feature 45 Farmer Producer Organizations from across Chhattisgarh, showcasing and selling their finest agricultural products.
The event will be held from March 26 to March 28, 2025, with the inauguration scheduled for March 26 at 11 AM by Ramvichar Netam, Minister of Agriculture Development, Farmers’ Welfare, and Biotechnology. Special guests at the event will include Dharsiwa MLA Anuj Sharma, Raipur Rural MLA Moti Lal Sahu, and Raipur Municipal Corporation Mayor Meenal Chaubey, while Dr. Girish Chandel, Vice-Chancellor of Indira Gandhi Agricultural University, will preside over the program.
The F.P.O. Fair will feature an extensive range of organic and processed food products produced by Farmer Producer Organizations across Chhattisgarh. The fair will showcase aromatic organic rice varieties such as Vishnubhog, Devbhog, Jeeraphool, Black Rice, Red Rice, Green Rice, and Brown Rice, along with organic pulses and oilseeds like Arhar, Urad, Masoor, Lakhdi Dal, Mustard, Peanut Oil, and Sheesham Oil. Various millets and flours, including Bajra, Kodo, Kutki, Ragi, Multigrain Flour, Rice Flour, and Ragi Flour, will also be available. Additionally, visitors can explore a variety of spices and herbal products such as Turmeric Powder, Red Chilli Powder, Coriander Powder, Moringa Powder, Herbal Soaps, and Phenyl, as well as organic jaggery and snacks like Jaggery, Jaggery Candy, Berry Biscuits, Aam Papad, Mahua Laddoo, Amchur Laddoo, Pickles, and Processed Foods made from Lemon, Jackfruit, Amla, Turmeric, Mustard, Bamboo, Mixed Pickles, Mushroom Papad, and Mushroom Badi. The fair will also feature beauty and wellness products, including Honey Bee Wax, Lip Balm, Foot Cream, Kumkum, and Turmeric Roli.
In addition to the exhibition and sale of products, the fair will also host training sessions conducted by subject matter experts on enhancing F.P.O. operations. The sessions will include participation from agricultural scientists, officials from the Agriculture Department, progressive farmers, and F.P.O. representatives.
The Government of India has been organizing F.P.O. fairs across the country to ensure farmers receive fair prices for their produce, promote crop processing, and encourage value addition in agricultural products. In line with this initiative, this event in Chhattisgarh will provide farmers direct access to the market while offering consumers high-quality organic products. The three-day F.P.O. Fair-cum-Exhibition will have free entry for the general public, allowing them to explore and purchase a wide range of organic and processed food products.
