Over 3 lakh youth empowered in UP through Yogi Adityanath’s CM Yuva Yojana

Lucknow : The Chief Minister Yuva Udyam Vikas Abhiyan (CM Yuva) scheme, launched by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, is driving a wave of entrepreneurship among Uttar Pradesh’s youth. Aimed at building a self-reliant India, the scheme has seen over 3 lakh registrations as of March 31, 2025. So far, more than 28,000 projects have been approved, with banks disbursing over Rs 1,000 crore to support young entrepreneurs in 2024–25 and 2025–26.

According to the information received, as of March 31, 2025, a total of 3,21,527 youth have registered under the CM Yuva scheme. In 2024–25 alone, 1,83,357 applications were received with a combined project cost of Rs 8,894.14 crore. After verification, 1,48,632 applications worth Rs 7,168.01 crore were forwarded to banks. Of these, 41,286 projects were approved at a cost of Rs 1,621.37 crore, and Rs 1,111.10 crore was disbursed across 27,848 projects. The remaining applications are currently under process.

For the financial year 2025–26, the Yogi government has set a target of approving 1.5 lakh projects under the CM Yuva scheme. As of April 4, 2025, 6,559 applications have been received with a total project cost of Rs 314.4 crore. Of these, 3,354 projects worth Rs 160.3 crore have been forwarded to banks, and 399 projects worth Rs 16 crore have been approved. So far, Rs 7.1 crore has been disbursed across 175 projects, while the remaining applications are under process.

Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar Singh has directed that District Magistrates and Chief Development Officers (CDOs) inspect banks with high numbers of pending applications. He emphasized regular monitoring by all CDOs and instructed them to expedite the disposal process by holding frequent meetings of the Bankers’ Committee.

What is CM Yuva Yojana?

The CM Yuva Yojana is a flagship initiative of the Uttar Pradesh government aimed at providing self-employment opportunities to 10 lakh youth over the next 10 years. The scheme focuses on promoting self-reliance through micro and small enterprises. Eligible applicants—aged 21 to 40 years, with a minimum qualification of Class 8 and a skill training certificate—can receive interest-free, unsecured loans of up to Rs 5 lakh. In addition, beneficiaries will also receive a 10% margin money grant.
