Gujarat Titans Defeat Sunrisers Hyderabad by 7 Wickets

In match number 19 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, Gujarat Titans (GT) secured a commanding seven-wicket win over Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. Batting first, Hyderabad posted a modest total of 152/8 in their 20 overs. Gujarat successfully chased down the target in just 17 overs, thanks to standout performances from Mohammad Siraj and Shubman Gill.

Hyderabad’s innings got off to a disastrous start as Mohammad Siraj struck early, removing Travis Head in the very first over for just 8 runs. Siraj continued his fiery spell, ending with impressive figures of 4 wickets, which severely dented Hyderabad’s batting momentum. Abhishek Sharma was dismissed in the fifth over for 18, and Ishan Kishan, who was expected to anchor the innings, fell for just 17 in the eighth over. Heinrich Klaasen tried to stabilize the innings with a few boundaries but was dismissed in the 14th over. Nitish Reddy followed him soon after.

Despite a few late blows from skipper Pat Cummins, Hyderabad could only manage 152 runs in their allotted 20 overs.

In response, Gujarat Titans made light work of the chase. Shubman Gill anchored the innings brilliantly with an unbeaten 61, guiding his team to victory with ease. His composed knock ensured that Gujarat reached the target with three overs to spare, securing two crucial points in the tournament.

This win strengthens Gujarat’s position on the points table, while Hyderabad will need to regroup quickly for their upcoming fixtures.
