Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has stated that Madhya Pradesh will be made a leading state in the field of healthcare. Continuous efforts are being made in this direction. Along with the government, society also needs to be actively involved in the health sector. Numerous projects will be implemented in the state at governmental, non-governmental, and semi-governmental levels to safeguard and improve the health of citizens. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was addressing a program held on the occasion of World Health Day at Hotel Courtyard Marriott on Monday. On this occasion, he launched the Maternal and Child Sanjeevan Mission Strategy Document and the Anmol 2.0 portal.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav congratulated the Health Department for creating this innovative program on World Health Day. He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, India is undergoing a transformative era, and the entire world is witnessing it. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the leadership of Prime Minister Modi became evident, as India worked on the principle of turning crisis into opportunity, developed a vaccine, and extended help not only to its own citizens but also to many other countries. With tireless research, the country was able to provide free vaccines to its people, which helped in improving their health and boosting morale.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav remarked that it was a difficult period when the public was suffering, but due to excellent management, vaccination was carried out effectively across the nation, and the disease was brought under control. The whole world was watching India with concern. During that challenging time, Prime Minister Shri Modi found the way forward. He further emphasized that systems should be improved using modern technology. He congratulated the Health Department for launching the Anmol 2.0portal. Dr. Yadav noted that previously, health and medical education were two separate ministries, which have now been integrated to ensure the welfare of the public. The number of medical colleges in the state is consistently increasing, with new colleges being established every year. He added that the state has taken initiatives to improve hospital management through the adoption of the PPP (Public-Private Partnership) model, and a conducive environment has also been developed in this direction. We Will Promote Medical Tourism

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav stated that Madhya Pradesh has immense potential for medical tourism. Efforts will be increased to tap into this potential. The regional industry conclaves held in the state have also incorporated the service sector. Initially, private sector hospitals in major cities such as Indore, Ujjain, Gwalior, and Jabalpur will be promoted. These large cities will be categorized under the ‘A’ category. New hospitals will be provided with up to 40% subsidy. Hospitals will be subsidized under three different categories, which will support their operation. This subsidy provision will empower hospitals and greatly assist in providing medical care to citizens.

Chief MinisterDr. Yadav mentioned that air ambulance services are also being operated at two levels. In areas with airstrips, aircraft are being arranged to transport critical and accident patients to major medical institutions. In locations with helipads, helicopter services have been launched. Recently, arrangements were made to airlift a doctor from AIIMS Bhopal to Chennai in an emergency. He added that this service is being made available through consultations with district doctors and the district collectors. He also emphasized that Ayushman cardholders are being provided with airplane and helicopter services free of cost. Along with allopathy, systems of medicine like AYUSH, naturopathy, and other alternative treatments are being promoted through a holistic approach.

Deputy Chief Minister Shri Rajendra Shukla said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, the Madhya Pradesh government is committed to providing excellent healthcare services to every citizen. This program focused on maternal and child health on World Health Day highlights the government’s commitment. Improvement in IMR (Infant Mortality Rate) and MMR (Maternal Mortality Ratio) is a major challenge in the state’s health sector. Efforts have been made in the past as well. In the last 20 years, MMR has decreased from 400 to 173IMR from 80 to 43and NMR (Neonatal Mortality Rate) from 60 to 31These efforts have yielded positive results, but the goal is still distant. He said that in line with Prime Minister Shri Modi’s vision of achieving sustainable development goals, Madhya Pradesh is making vigorous efforts. By 2030, there will be planned efforts to reduce MMR to below 100 and IMR to below 20.

Shri Shukla mentioned that to bring the expected improvement in these outcomes, subject experts and research professionals have identified problems and developed the Maternal and Child Health Sanjeevan Mission Road Map. Additionally, to ensure registration and close monitoring of pregnant women and infants’ health, the Anmol 2.0 (ANM Online 2.0)app and web portal have been launched. He shared that nearly 20thousand ANMs have been mapped and trained. In the future, efforts will be made to also map ASHA and Anganwadi workers. He added that registering 100% of pregnant women and conducting regular ANC (Antenatal Care) check-ups will enable early identification of high-risk pregnancies and ensure timely delivery of necessary healthcare services. This will help reduce both MMR and IMR.

Deputy Chief Minister Shri Shukla expressed concern that currently, only 60% of pregnant women are being registered in the state, and among them, 20% do not undergo timely check-ups. Awareness is being raised not just among women but also their family members. He urged that pregnant women should not be negligent and must undergo regular ANC check-ups on time. He also mentioned that under the Prime Minister’s Safe Motherhood Campaign, free health check-ups are conducted at nearby health centers on the 9th and 25th of every month. He said that Madhya Pradesh has been a performer state. Under the guidance of Prime Minister Shri Modi and the capable leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, healthcare services are being continuously strengthened. There is no shortage of budget. Work is being done in all areas, including infrastructure development, equipment, and the establishment of medical colleges.
