KISHTWAR : The festival of Baisakhi was celebrated with great enthusiasm and cultural spirit in District Kishtwar.
A traditional Dangal at the scenic Chowgan Grounds was one of the highlights of the celebrations. The event drew huge crowds from across the region, reaffirming the district’s commitment to preserving its vibrant heritage.
The occasion was graced by the presence of Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Kumar Shavan, who led the celebrations along with senior officers and local dignitaries.
The DC extended warm Baisakhi greetings to the people of the district and lauded the organizers for their commendable efforts in upholding the legacy of this iconic event.
The Dangal saw enthusiastic participation from wrestlers and spectators, highlighting the region’s deep-rooted love for traditional sports and its cultural richness. The event not only entertained but also served as a platform for communal harmony and social unity.
The Deputy Commissioner also distributed prizes among the participants, acknowledging their enthusiastic participation and commendable participation.
Apart from this, the DC also visited the revered Neel Gangeshwar Mahadev Temple at Bhandarkoot, where he reviewed the arrangements made for the convenience of devotees and offered prayers for peace, prosperity, and collective well-being.
