New Ayodhya-Hisar air route launched, marking another milestone for double-engine govt

PM flags off flight from Hisar; passengers receive grand welcome in Ayodhya

61 passengers arrive in Ayodhya and 42 depart from there by 72 seater plane

Ayodhya : The double-engine government continues to strengthen Ayodhya’s air connectivity with cities nationwide. On Monday, as part of this series of efforts, a new air route was inaugurated between Hisar (Haryana) and Ayodhya.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off the maiden flight, marking a significant step in boosting pilgrimage and tourism to the holy city. With unified leadership at the Centre and the state, the government is accelerating development and reaffirming its commitment to transforming Ayodhya into a global spiritual destination.

The inaugural flight landed at Maharishi Valmiki International Airport, Ayodhya, at 12:35 PM, where it received a grand welcome with a traditional water cannon salute. Director Vinod Kumar and airport staff greeted passengers with great enthusiasm. The celebration included a cake-cutting ceremony, offering roses, tilak on the forehead, and chants of “Jai Shri Ram,” making the journey memorable for the passengers.

The Hisar-Ayodhya flight will operate twice a week—on Fridays and Sundays. It will land in Ayodhya at 12:35 PM and depart back to Hisar at 1:00 PM, with a total journey time of approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes. The route is being serviced by an ATR-72 aircraft with a seating capacity of 72. The first flight saw 61 passengers arriving in Ayodhya and 42 departing for Hisar—an encouraging start reflecting strong initial demand.

This new air service will enhance Ayodhya’s connectivity and support its growing prominence as a religious tourism hub. Since the consecration of the Ram Mandir under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Ayodhya has witnessed an influx of lakhs of devotees from across India and abroad. Direct flights from cities like Hisar ease travel and contribute to time savings and convenience.

Moreover, the initiative is expected to boost the local economy, providing growth opportunities for hotels, transport services, and other tourism-related businesses.

The double-engine government has consistently prioritized the holistic development of Ayodhya. With visionary leadership from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, projects such as constructing new roads, modernising railway stations, and expanding air connectivity transformed Ayodhya into a world-class pilgrimage city. The Hisar-Ayodhya flight is yet another example of this strategic vision in action.

Passengers shared their excitement and gratitude. Kunal from Hisar said, “The Yogi government has fulfilled the big dream of a small city. We never imagined flying directly to Ayodhya from Hisar.” Renu Gill added, “We’re overjoyed that air travel has started—thank you, Modi ji.” In Haryanvi, Aditi Goyal said, “The Prime Minister should be like Narendra Modi. I’ve experienced it myself.”
