Rajasthan Police Foundation Day: Police are the True Heroes of Society, Says CM Bhajanlal Sharma
Jaipur – Chief Minister Shri Bhajanlal Sharma said that the courage, spirit of service, and sacrifice of the Rajasthan Police personnel are incomparable. The police uniform is not just a piece of clothing but a responsibility, a pledge, and a way of life. He said that police personnel are the real heroes of society in the truest sense. They remain committed to service every day, in every season, and against all challenges. They stand at the forefront during any crisis to ensure the safety of lives and property.
Shri Sharma was addressing the ceremony after inspecting the parade on the occasion of Rajasthan Police Foundation Day at the Rajasthan Police Academy (RPA) on Wednesday. He said that today is an opportunity to express respect and gratitude towards the brave police personnel of the state. Policemen dedicate their lives to the security of society, peace, and maintaining law and order. The Chief Minister paid tribute to the martyr police personnel who made the supreme sacrifice while remaining steadfast on the path of duty.
Police Remain Alert on Every Front –
The Chief Minister said that policemen act as a shield for society and ensure the safety of every section along with maintaining law and order. He said that the police remain vigilant on every front including crime prevention, disaster management, traffic control, and maintaining social harmony. He emphasized that the purpose of policing is not only to catch criminals but also to strengthen the sense of security and trust within society.
There Should Be Regular Communication Between Police and Citizens –
Shri Sharma said that police and society are complementary to each other. Regular dialogue between the police and citizens fosters public trust and effective control over crime. Meetings should be organized in villages and neighborhoods under community policing to help people understand the work of the police. He said that the police should visit schools, colleges, and community centers to spread awareness about law and safety. This will create a positive outlook toward the police among the youth. The police should also build mutual trust through quick resolution of complaints and the use of technology.
Police Modernisation and Infrastructure Fund of ₹200 Crore to Be Established –
The Chief Minister said that the state government is taking steps in the interest of police personnel and providing better facilities to make them more capable of dealing with challenges during duty. In this direction, a Police Modernisation and Infrastructure Fund of ₹200 crore will be established for police modernization and related infrastructure. Also, approval has been granted for the recruitment of 10,000 posts to further strengthen law and order in the state. Additionally, 5,500 new posts have been created, and a proposal for creating 3,500 new posts this year is underway. He said that administrative and financial approval has been given for the creation of posts for establishing Padmini, Kalibai, and Amritadevi Women Police Battalions and for forming 500 Kalika Patrolling Teams, with the creation of 1,000 new constable posts in the first phase. Moreover, a 10% increase in the honorarium of langris (kitchen staff) working in the Police and Prison Departments and the creation of 250 new langri posts has also been done. He said the government will continue to innovate to empower and modernize the Police Department.
Sardar Patel Centre for Cyber Control and War Room to Be Established at a Cost of ₹350 Crore –
Shri Sharma said that to enhance police mobility, approximately 750 motorcycles and 500 light vehicles have been provided, and ₹27 crore has been allocated for modern equipment. He said that administrative and financial approval has also been granted for the upgradation and expansion of the Police Telecommunication Training Centre as the Rajasthan Police Technical Training Academy. Similarly, the Sardar Patel Centre for Cyber Control and War Room will be established under Police Headquarters at a cost of ₹350 crore. Additionally, administrative and financial approval of about ₹60 crore has been granted to make the police more effective and efficient.
Earlier, the Chief Minister paid floral tribute at the Police Martyrs’ Memorial, honoring the brave martyrs. Afterward, he inspected the parade on the parade ground. During the ceremony, police officers and personnel were awarded Police Medals and the Chief Minister’s Commendation Medal for their exemplary services.
Director General of Police Shri U.R. Sahu said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Bhajanlal Sharma, the steps taken by the state government are ensuring crime control and providing relief to the general public. He expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister for the announcements made in the budget for better law and order.
On this occasion, Chief Secretary Shri Sudhansh Pant, Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Shri Anand Kumar, senior police officers, and a large number of police personnel and CLG members were present.
Announcements Made by the Chief Minister –
On this occasion, the Chief Minister announced an increase in the uniform allowance for police personnel from constable to assistant sub-inspector from ₹7,000 to ₹8,000 and a hike in mess allowance for officers up to the rank of inspector from ₹2,400 to ₹2,700. Shri Sharma also announced free travel facilities for police personnel from constable to inspector rank in semi-deluxe buses, in addition to express category buses. He said that the government will take all necessary steps to ensure timely promotions for police personnel. Our government will work keeping in mind the challenges and problems faced by police personnel.
