In Wake of Pahalgam Terror Attack, CM Bhajanlal Sharma Reviews Law and Order.
Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma has reiterated the Rajasthan government’s commitment to ensuring a robust and foolproof security system across the state. In view of the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, the CM directed all districts to maintain heightened security and vigilance, especially in border areas.
Chairing a video conference on Wednesday from his residence, the CM held a review meeting with Divisional Commissioners, Inspectors General of Police, Police Commissioners, District Collectors, and Superintendents of Police. He emphasized that special attention must be given to districts adjoining international borders, and instructed officials to coordinate closely with deployed security agencies to prevent any untoward incidents.
“Pahalgam Attack Has Shocked the Nation”
Describing the Pahalgam terror strike targeting tourists as a cowardly and condemnable act, CM Sharma said the entire nation is stunned. He noted the gravity of the situation, stating that Prime Minister Narendra Modi cut short his foreign visit and returned to India, while Union Home Minister Amit Shah visited the attack site in J&K. He affirmed that no terrorist involved in this heinous act would be spared by the security forces.
CM Extends Condolences to Victims’ Families
Expressing deep sorrow over the attack, CM Sharma offered prayers for strength to the bereaved families. He also personally spoke to the family of Neeraj Udvani, a Jaipur resident who lost his life in the attack, offering condolences and support.
Serious Attention to Even Minor Alerts
The CM instructed that even minor incidents and information must be taken seriously and promptly reported to senior authorities. He emphasized strict implementation of Home Department guidelines related to law and order. He further instructed ADG Range Officers to maintain constant communication with district officials and to regularly visit their respective regions.
Enhanced Police Deployment in Public Spaces
To reinforce public safety, the CM ordered increased police presence at public places, tourist spots, and crowded areas. He emphasized regular checks at hotels, inns, and dharamshalas to identify and act upon any suspicious activity in a timely manner.
Strict Surveillance on Social Media
CM Sharma stressed the need for intense monitoring of social media. He directed authorities to take stringent action against misleading posts, objectionable comments, and rumor-mongering, and to ensure the dissemination of accurate information through both social and traditional media platforms.
The review meeting was attended by the Chief Secretary, Director General of Police, senior officials from the Home Department, Chief Minister’s Office, and the Police Department. Divisional Commissioners, IGs, Police Commissioners, Collectors, and SPs joined the session via video conferencing.
