Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and Speaker Dr. Raman Singh conduct high-level review

Raipur : The construction of Chhattisgarh’s new Legislative Assembly in Sector-19 of Naya Raipur is progressing rapidly on a 51-acre site. Over 95% of the work has already been completed. In a high-level meeting held at the Chief Minister’s residence today, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai and Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh reviewed the progress in detail and instructed that the construction must be completed by September 2025 under all circumstances.

CM Sai emphasized that the new building will stand as a symbol of Chhattisgarh’s democratic spirit and cultural dignity. “Its grandeur and functionality will inspire the new generation,” he stated.

The construction is divided into three major wings: the Assembly Secretariat, the Legislative Chamber, and the Central Hall Complex. Work is in full swing on the viewing galleries, media gallery, committee rooms, library, electrification, air conditioning, road surfacing, landscaping, water and power supply, interior decoration, and fixed furniture.

Defined Departmental Responsibilities to Ensure Ideal Coordination

The meeting included a review of the work being done by the Public Works Department (PWD), Horticulture, Culture Department, and CHiPS (Chhattisgarh Infotech Promotion Society). Each department was given clear instructions to complete their assigned tasks within the stipulated deadlines.

Integrating Safety and Sustainability: From Fire Systems to Solar Panels

The new complex will incorporate firefighting systems, rainwater harvesting, an advanced audio-visual system, 300 kW solar panels, and a 500-seater auditorium—making it an environmentally sustainable model for future infrastructure.

Celebrating Culture: Museum on Chhattisgarh’s Folk Traditions

The Culture Department will also construct a museum within the complex dedicated to showcasing Chhattisgarh’s rich folk heritage, preserving and promoting the state’s cultural diversity.

Present at the meeting were Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao, Finance Minister O.P. Choudhary, Principal Secretary to the CM Subodh Kumar Singh, Secretary to the CM P. Dayanand, Mukesh Bansal, Dr. Basavaraju S, Assembly Secretary Dinesh Sharma, and senior officials from the relevant departments.
