Deputy CM Eknath Shinde Congratulates Justice Bhushan Gavai on Taking Oath
Mumbai : Justice Bhushan Gavai’s swearing-in today as the 52nd Chief Justice of India is a matter of great pride for Maharashtra, stated Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde in his congratulatory message.
Justice Gavai, who inherited a legacy of social service from his father, has been part of several constitutional benches of the Supreme Court, delivering numerous landmark judgments. As a judge of the Bombay High Court, Justice Gavai played a key role in the establishment of the Maharashtra National Law University in Nagpur. He has also made significant contributions toward developing judicial infrastructure across various courts.
During his long and unblemished tenure in the judiciary, Justice Gavai has upheld the principles of justice, integrity, and transparency while serving in several high-ranking positions.
Expressing confidence in Justice Gavai’s leadership, Deputy CM Shinde said he believes that the Indian judicial system will grow stronger and more people-centric under his tenure.
