Various development works worth Rs. 25,000 crores have been undertaken in the Gandhinagar Lok Sabha constituency in the last six years: UHM Shri Amit Shah

Union Home Minister Shri Amitbhai Shah, while being responsible for internal security in India, has given equal priority to the welfare of the citizens of Gandhinagar: Chief Minister Shri

The Union Home Minister inaugurated and laid foundation stones for development works worth a total of ₹707 crore under Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation, GUDA, and the District Administration.

Union Home Minister and Member of Parliament from Gandhinagar Shri Amit Shah today inaugurated and laid foundation stones (virtually) for various development works worth ₹708 crore under the Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation, Gujarat Urban Development Authority (GUDA), and Gandhinagar District Administration. Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel and Minister of State for Home Shri Harsh Sanghavi were present at the event organized at Kolavada in Gandhinagar.

On this occasion, Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah stated that when Shri Narendrabhai Modi was the Chief Minister of Gujarat, he started a development campaign in Gujarat. Following the same model, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is now working for the country’s development. The Prime Minister has also made the country secure in every sector. Under his leadership, India’s security framework will remain strong and impenetrable in the future as well, he added.

Referring to the development works carried out in Gandhinagar, he added that in the last six years, around ₹25,000 crore worth of development works have been undertaken to enhance the facilities for citizens of Gandhinagar Lok Sabha constituency. In Gandhinagar North Assembly alone, ₹4,260 crore worth of development works have been executed.

The Union Home Minister mentioned that before Shri Narendra Modi became Prime Minister in 2014, India’s soldiers and civilians were victims of many Pakistan-sponsored terrorist attacks, but there was no response to them. After 2014, under the leadership of the Prime Minister, the Indian Army gave a strong reply to the Pakistan-sponsored Uri, Pulwama, and Pahalgam terrorist attacks through surgical strikes, air strikes, and Operation Sindoor. Recently, under Operation Sindoor, the Indian Army destroyed and eliminated around nine terrorist camps and headquarters of notorious organizations like Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed. Operation Sindoor has not only astonished India but also surprised global security experts analyzing defense operations.

Shri Shah said that for the first time under the leadership of the Prime Minister, the Indian Army conducted air strikes up to 100 kilometers inside Pakistan and destroyed nine camps and around 15 air bases in Bahawalpur and Sialkot, thereby sending a clear message of India’s military capability to the world.

The promise made to the people during the Bihar rally by the Prime Minister has been fulfilled through Operation Sindoor. In this operation, over 100 terrorists were buried in the ground.

India’s air defense system intercepted and destroyed drone and missile attacks by Pakistan mid-air. Against India’s modern air defense, Pakistan cannot survive.

He said that whenever military operations are recalled globally, the success of “Operation Sindoor,” conducted in honor of Indian women under the leadership of the Prime Minister, will certainly be discussed. If terrorists try to attack India, India will respond with double strength. The Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force have responded fiercely to Pakistan’s nuclear bomb threats. On behalf of the citizens of Gandhinagar, I congratulate and thank the Indian Army and the Prime Minister.

Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel:

Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel congratulated the brave soldiers of the Indian Army and Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on behalf of the entire Gujarat for the grand success of Operation Sindoor.

The Chief Minister said that while handling the huge responsibility of India’s internal security, Union Home Minister Shri Amitbhai Shah has given equal priority to the well-being of the citizens of his parliamentary constituency. It is his resolve to provide all necessary facilities to every citizen in the Gandhinagar region.

Amid growing urbanization, the state government is determined to develop transport, employment, housing, and all infrastructural facilities for urban residents while preserving the environment. The year 2025 is being celebrated as the Year of Urban Development. Therefore, keeping in mind future needs, various public welfare plans are being undertaken in Gandhinagar.

Recently, a substantial allocation of ₹771 crore was made from the Swarnim Jayanti Chief Minister Urban Development Scheme for drainage water treatment and social infrastructure development in all areas of Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation. As a result, the facilities for Gandhinagar’s citizens will improve, he added.

Additionally, the Chief Minister said that today, due to the far-sighted vision of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, prestigious educational institutions like NFSU, GNLU, PDEU, NID, IIT, and the National Defense University are operational in Gandhinagar, making it emerge as an education hub.

The Chief Minister referred to the pledges made by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for building a Viksit Bharat@2047. Alongside development progress, he called for making Gujarat an “Environment-Friendly Gujarat” by 2047.

The Chief Minister requested everyone’s cooperation to truly realize public welfare commitments such as “Catch the Rain” for water conservation, “One Tree in My Name,” raising awareness about cleanliness and health, promoting local trade and industry through “Vocal for Local,” boosting tourism, and helping the poor.

Mayor of Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation Smt. Meera Patel began the event by welcoming everyone and said that under the guidance of Union Home Minister Shri Amitbhai Shah, Gandhinagar city is making rapid strides in development. Under his guidance, a chain of development projects—gardens, roads, health centers, lakes, schools, pumping stations, yoga studios—has been successfully implemented.

MLA from Gandhinagar North Smt. Ritaben Patel congratulated the brave soldiers of the country on the grand success of Operation Sindoor and mentioned that with the launch of primary health centers in Vavol and Pethapur in Gandhinagar district, citizens of over nine surrounding villages will now have access to strong healthcare facilities nearby.

During the event, in addition to the inauguration and foundation laying of development works by the Union Home Minister, benefits of various schemes of the Indian Postal Department under Gandhinagar Postal Division were distributed to the beneficiaries. The large crowd gathered at Kolavada welcomed all the dignitaries enthusiastically with chants of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” and the national flag.
