“I Kawtkaiah Sawrkar” initiative reaches six villages under Lunglei DC’s jurisdiction, benefits 5,082 people
Lunglei : With the aim of bringing essential government services closer to the people, the Lunglei District Deputy Commissioner’s Office has conducted the outreach programme “I Kawtkaiah Sawrkar” (Prashasan Gaon Ki Ore) from January 14 to May 14, 2025, across six villages — Haulawng, Ralvawng, Bunghmun, Tlabung, Lungsen, and Bualte. A total of 5,082 individuals availed various government services during the programme.
The initiative targets people residing in remote and hilly areas of Lunglei district who have limited access to town-based services. It aims to provide doorstep access to various government departments, raise awareness about available schemes and services, and create a responsive platform for addressing citizens’ needs and grievances.
The programme was officially launched by Lunglei Deputy Commissioner Pi Navneet Mann at Haulawng on January 14, 2025. Throughout the campaign, multiple government departments provided on-the-spot services to local residents, with enthusiastic participation across all the selected villages.
Key services delivered include:
- 487 new or updated Aadhaar enrolments
- 428 new or corrected Voter IDs
- 611 official certificates issued (tribal, residential, income, etc.)
- 639 new or updated ration cards (Supply Dept.)
- 498 ABHA card registrations and medical consultations (Health Dept.)
- 890 livestock checkups and vaccinations (Veterinary Dept.)
- 500 agricultural and horticultural beneficiaries registered under various schemes
- Additional services such as new bank account openings through SBI and MRB, and scheme enrollments under Social Welfare, Women & Child Development, Education, Commerce & Industries, PHED, PWD, RD, Soil, Irrigation, Forest, Police, Fire & Emergency Services, Taxation, Revenue, and other line departments.
In total, 5,082 individuals benefitted from the services provided during the outreach programme.
