All-party outreach mission connects with South Korean think-tanks, leaders.

Members of the All Party Parliamentary Delegation, led by Sanjay Kumar Jha meets South Korean Defence Chief Sung -IL Jong in Seoul today as a part of India’s outreach mission in underscoring India’s unflinching commitment to combat terrorism globally.

During a meeting with think tanks in Seoul, Congress leader and delegation member Salman Khurshid

addressed the ongoing challenges in Jammu and Kashmir, attributing renewed terror activity to the region’s positive trajectory. Khurshid stated, “This progress sounded unpleasant to the people across the border, who felt that they would lose fertile ground for their future activities. This was the time to strike”.

Trinamool Congress Parliamentarian Mr. Abhishek Banerjee reaffirmed that dialogue spanned issues of peace, regional stability, and strengthening multilateral efforts to confront the threat of terror. He further reiterated, “We also held insightful discussions with some of Korea’s foremost strategic thinkers, including former Vice Ministers, Ambassadors and leading voices from the country’s top think tanks. In my intervention, I specifically highlighted the deep cultural bond that Koreans share with Kaviguru Rabindranath Tagore, whose timeless poem ‘The Lamp of the East’ continues to hold a special place in the hearts of Koreans. It is a matter of great pride that his words are still taught in Korean schools and remain embedded in their textbooks even today – A testament to the enduring spiritual and civilisational connection between our peoples“.

Hon’ble MP Sanjay Kumar Jha, began their engagements on Operation Sindoor with a briefing by Ambassador Amit Kumar. He highlighted the Korea-specific approach to scheduled engagements, setting the context for a strong messaging of India’s stance of zero tolerance against terrorism.

The delegation also includes CPI(M) MP John Brittas, BJP MP Aparajita Sarangi, BJP MP Brij Lal, BJP MP Pradhan Baruah, Ambassador Mohan Kumar, and BJP MP Hemang Joshi. The mission marks a continuation of Operation Sindoor, India’s diplomatic outreach following the terror attacks in Pahalgam on April 22 in which Pakistani-backed terrorists gunned down 26 people in Jammu and Kashmir.
