SSI Mantra 3 Robotic surgery will now ease Critical Cardiac Ailments.

Malla Reddy Narayana Multispecialty Hospital in Hyderabad on Monday announced it has launched a Robotic Cardiac Surgery Program using the indigenously developed SSI Mantra 3 Robotic Surgical System. This initiative marks the beginning of SS Innovations’ first cardiac robotic program at the hospital, furthering its mission to make advanced, minimally invasive heart surgery more accessible across India the hospital said in a release here.

The cardiac programme was inaugurated with a series of successful, high-precision procedures carried out over two consecutive days, by a dedicated cardiac team led by Dr Harish Badami, Senior Consultant CTVS and Robotics Specialist. The team performed a robotic Atrial Septal Defect (ASD) repair, a LIMA takedown, and a robotic Mitral Valve Replacement (MVR) — all of which were completed safely. These procedures were proctored by Dr Lalit Malik, chief cardiac surgeon at Manipal Hospitals (MHEPL), Jaipur.

Notably, the SSI Mantra Surgical Robotic System is the only surgical robotic system in India to receive approval from the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) for tele-proctoring.
