Appointment of Gynecologist in Balrampur through DMF Funds

Pregnant Women Now Receiving Treatment and Safe Deliveries

Raipur : Under the direction of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, the District Mineral Foundation (DMF) funds are being utilized to improve the living standards of local residents. As part of this initiative, the district administration has appointed a gynecologist at the District Hospital in Balrampur to ensure safe deliveries for pregnant women.

It is noteworthy that there had been a long-standing need for a gynecologist at the District Hospital in Balrampur. Due to the lack of such a specialist, pregnant women had to travel to other districts for safe deliveries and medical consultation. However, with the recent appointment of a gynecologist, women can now access better medical care within the district itself.

Health department officials informed that Dr. Shubham Mitra (DNB) has been appointed as the gynecologist through DMF funds, and he has already started his services at the hospital. The surgery department, which had been non-functional for a long time, has also resumed operations.

Officials noted that earlier, pregnant women in need of surgery had to be referred to Ambikapur District Hospital, but now this facility is available in Balrampur itself. Dr. Shubham Mitra recently performed a major surgery on a 25-year-old patient, Mrs. Neelam Minj, in the maternity ward of the district hospital. The operation was successful, and both the mother and baby—who weighs approximately 3.2 kilograms—are healthy and under medical supervision.

Civil Surgeon of the District Hospital, Dr. Shashank Gupta, stated that the appointment of a gynecologist is a significant achievement for the district. With this development, all pregnant women in the district can now access safe delivery and quality treatment locally.
