“Guardian Minister Chandrakant Patil: Ensure the District Leads in Implementing the ‘Chief Minister – My Beloved Sister’ Scheme”

Solapur : “The ‘Chief Minister – My Beloved Sister’ scheme is a very important initiative of the state government. To ensure that the maximum number of women in the state benefit from this scheme, the government has made it very simple. Keeping this in mind, the Solapur district administration should make extensive efforts to publicize this scheme and ensure that the maximum number of women aged 21 to 65 benefit from it, making Solapur district a leader in the state,” said Higher and Technical Education, Textile, and Parliamentary Affairs Minister and Guardian Minister Chandrakant Patil.

Guardian Minister Mr. Patil was speaking at a review meeting of various departments in the district, held at the Planning Bhavan conference hall. Also present were District Collector Kumar Ashirwad, Solapur City Police Commissioner M. Rajkumar, Zilla Parishad Chief Executive Officer Manisha Avhale, Resident Deputy Collector Manisha Kumbhar, Superintendent Engineer of Public Works Department Sanjay Mali, Deputy Collector Santosh Deshmukh, District Program Officer for Women and Child Welfare Prasad Mirakale, District Planning Officer Dilip Pawar, District Superintendent Agriculture Officer Dattatraya Gavasane, Municipal Corporation Additional Commissioner Sandeep Karanje, and other related department officials.

Minister Patil further said that under the ‘Chief Minister – My Beloved Sister’ scheme, the government will provide Rs. 1500 per month to approximately three crore women in the state, with an annual provision of Rs. 46,000 crores. He emphasized the importance of ensuring that the officers of the concerned departments in the district fully understand this ambitious scheme and its provisions so that efforts can be made to reach ordinary women. He also provided detailed guidance on how to implement the scheme effectively and informed about other state government schemes aimed at bringing women into the mainstream.

He mentioned that a subsidy of Rs. 689 crores has been received for 519,000 farmer beneficiaries in the Kharif season of 2023, out of which Rs. 489 crores have been distributed to the bank accounts of 33,768 farmers. He instructed the administration to expedite the process of transferring the subsidy amount to the remaining farmer accounts. He also took stock of the Kharif sowing and directed the Agriculture Department to ensure an ample supply of seeds and fertilizers to the farmers. Additionally, he highlighted that although Rs. 136 crores have been received out of the expected Rs. 216 crores for crop insurance advances in 2023, efforts should be made to obtain the remaining advance amount.

Guardian Minister Mr. Patil said that for departments in the district that are expected to receive funds from the ministry level, the Guardian Minister’s office will follow up with the concerned ministry departments to send the funds to the respective district-level agencies. He emphasized the need to review the works under the Jalyukta Shivar Abhiyan 1.0 and ensure that the farmers have benefited from the campaign. For Jalyukta Shivar Abhiyan 2.0, he suggested effectively working to increase the water storage capacity in the remaining 233 villages.

While reviewing the infrastructure projects in Solapur district, Mr. Patil noted that the issue of the flyover in Solapur city has been pending for several years. A separate review meeting will be held during the next visit to resolve this issue. Additionally, he mentioned that the work on the pipeline supplying water to Solapur city is nearing completion, and according to the Municipal Corporation, it is expected to be completed by November 2024, ensuring water supply to the city’s residents. He assured that the progress of the pipeline work will be inspected soon. He also instructed each government department to ensure the timely completion of various development works undertaken by their respective departments.

During the meeting, District Collector Kumar Ashirwad provided detailed information about the administration’s efforts in implementing the ‘Chief Minister – My Beloved Sister’ scheme in the district. He mentioned that 3,500 applications have been received online through the Women and Child Development Department’s Nari app. He also noted that the Agriculture Department has ensured an ample stock of seeds and fertilizers for farmers, with the administration being vigilant in this regard. Chief Executive Officer Manisha Avhale shared information about the development works being carried out by the Zilla Parishad, Resident Deputy Collector Manisha Kumbhar provided details on the distribution of subsidies to farmers, District Agricultural Officer gave insights into the Agriculture Department’s initiatives, and District Program Officer for Women and Child Welfare Prasad Mirakle discussed the applications received under the ‘Chief Minister – My Beloved Sister’ scheme. Superintendent Engineer of the Public Works Department Sanjay Mali presented information about the roads.

Guardian Minister Visits Maha-e-Seva Center Guardian Minister Mr. Patil visited a Maha-e-Seva center in Solapur city. During his visit, he observed the process of filling out online applications for the ‘Chief Minister – My Beloved Sister’ scheme. He received detailed information about the process and symbolically handed out printouts of successfully uploaded online applications to two women.
