Khanzawl DDMA Officials Visit Various Affected Areas In The District

Khawzawl : Due to heavy rainfall and landslides in various parts of Khawzawl, extensive damage has been reported. In response, officials of the Khawzawl District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), led by Chairman and Deputy Commissioner Pu K. Vanlalthiana, convened a meeting and conducted field visits to the affected areas.

Three teams were formed to visit different locations. These teams included the Additional Deputy Commissioner, Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil), District Information & Public Relations Officer (DIPRO), and senior police officials. Personnel from the 2nd IR Battalion under the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) also joined the efforts.

The teams visited villages in coordination with Village Council (VC) leaders, collected reports on the extent of damage, and distributed essential relief materials such as tarpaulin sheets and other necessary items. The SDRF members assisted by installing tarpaulins and performing other emergency response tasks. Quick Response Teams (QRTs) have been distributing relief materials across affected locations since morning.

In Khawzawl, the heavy rain and landslides have caused road blockages, damage to crops and houses, and disrupted daily life. However, no casualties or injuries have been reported so far. The Village Councils and DDMA are working in close coordination to manage the situation and provide timely relief to the affected residents.
