Supriya Sule Leads All-Party Delegation to Egypt to Strengthen Global Anti-Terror Partnerships

Cairo : A seven-member all-party parliamentary delegation led by Supriya Sule, Member of Parliament from the Nationalist Congress Party–Sharadchandra Pawar (NCP-SCP), arrived at Cairo International Airport on Monday, marking the Egypt leg of their multi-country diplomatic tour. The delegation was warmly received by India’s Ambassador to Egypt, Suresh K. Reddy.

This high-level visit is part of India’s broader outreach to strengthen bilateral relationships and convey a unified national message on counterterrorism. Speaking on arrival, Sule described the delegation’s earlier visits to Qatar, South Africa, and Ethiopia as “exceptionally successful,” and expressed optimism about expanding India’s strategic ties through discussions in Egypt.

“Our mission is to take the Prime Minister’s message from Operation Sindoor to the next level, promoting zero tolerance against terrorism,” Sule stated, highlighting the core purpose of the delegation’s journey. She noted that all three countries visited thus far had expressed strong support for India’s counterterrorism stance, pledging not to tolerate or aid any nation that shelters or trains terrorists.

“We are deeply grateful to the Ministry of External Affairs for meticulously organizing this important outreach initiative,” Sule added, emphasizing the role of diplomatic channels in ensuring productive bilateral engagements. “It’s not a political visit—it’s a united national effort to strengthen India’s global standing and security partnerships.”

Earlier in the tour, while speaking to the media, Sule reiterated India’s commitment to peace and denounced terrorism in all forms. “Our past and present Prime Ministers—Dr. Manmohan Singh and Shri Narendra Modi—have consistently championed foreign policies rooted in peace and harmony,” she said. “It is deeply saddening that in recent years, numerous innocent lives have been lost in senseless terrorist attacks. India stands united in advocating zero tolerance towards terrorism, not just within its borders but globally.”

Sule also mentioned the emotional toll of such violence, saying, “We are here not as representatives of political parties, but as proud Indians. Our message is one of solidarity, peace, and uncompromising resolve against terror.”

The multiparty delegation comprises MPs and prominent leaders from across the political spectrum, including Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Vikramjit Singh Sawhney, Manish Tewari, Anurag Singh Thakur, and Lavu Sri Krishna Devarayalu. Also part of the team are former Commerce and Industry Minister Anand Sharma, former Minister of State for External Affairs V. Muraleedharan, and India’s former Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Syed Akbaruddin.

The delegation’s primary mission is to brief global partners on India’s robust response to the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam and to reinforce New Delhi’s broader counterterrorism policy. These meetings are also intended to counter misinformation and misperceptions regarding India’s internal security measures and international posture.

Each member of the delegation is heading a regional outreach group under India’s “Group-7” initiative, formed to create a unified national voice on key global concerns such as cross-border terrorism and regional stability. Egypt, given its strategic position and long-standing diplomatic ties with India, is seen as a vital partner in this outreach.

The visit aims to further deepen India–Egypt relations through high-level dialogues, discussions with local leaders, and mutual assurances of cooperation in fighting extremism. It is expected that the outcome of this tour will pave the way for future bilateral agreements and multilateral collaborations rooted in shared values of peace, security, and development.

As the delegation continues its international engagements, it carries India’s firm and unified message: terrorism will not be tolerated, and India will continue to lead global efforts in fostering a secure, peaceful world.
