Raipur : Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi on Friday. During the meeting, the Chief Minister provided a detailed briefing on the achievements of anti-Naxal operations and ongoing development initiatives in the Bastar region. Also present were Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Vijay Sharma and the Chief Minister’s Principal Secretary Subodh Singh.
CM Sai informed that with the state government’s new strategy, backed by support from the Centre, the anti-Naxal campaign has reached a decisive phase. Intensive operations conducted over the past one and a half years have yielded positive results, including the surrender of 1,428 Maoists—a significant increase compared to the last five years.
He further shared that 427 Maoists were killed in 205 encounters, including top leaders such as General Secretary Baswa Raju and Central Committee member Sudhakar. Additionally, 64 new forward security camps have been established, significantly strengthening the state’s security infrastructure.
The Chief Minister emphasized that villages around these camps are now rapidly receiving basic amenities like electricity, drinking water, healthcare, and education. Under the “Niyad Nellanar Yojana”, 18 types of integrated community services and 25 government schemes are being implemented across 146 identified villages, which has boosted public trust in the government system.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah appreciated the progress report presented by CM Sai and praised the state government’s efforts. He remarked that Chhattisgarh’s sustained initiatives are leading to decisive control over Maoist activities, and assured that the Central Government will continue extending all necessary support to the state.
