Health Programmes Reviewed: Strict Instructions for NCD Patient Screening, Treatment, and Data Entry

Jaipur : Mission Director of the National Health Mission (NHM), Dr. T. Shubhamangala, emphasized that the vision of ‘Niramay Rajasthan’ must be realized through effective implementation of various health programmes down to the grassroots level. She stated that under the Non-Communicable Disease (NCD) programme, targets for screening individuals above 30 years of age for blood pressure and diabetes must be achieved within the set timelines across all districts.

Addressing a review meeting held via video conference at the Health Bhawan on Tuesday, Additional Mission Director Dr. Shubhamangala highlighted that multiple health programmes are being run under the NHM in the state. These must be executed effectively to ensure better healthcare services for the public and to improve Rajasthan’s standing on key health indicators.

Director of Public Health, Dr. Ravi Prakash Sharma, stressed the importance of timely diagnosis and treatment of patients under the NCD control programme. He noted that the Central Ministry of Health is closely monitoring these programmes. He instructed all Chief Medical and Health Officers (CMHOs) to ensure timely screening, initiation of treatment for NCD patients, and online data entry on the portal. He further directed widespread awareness campaigns to engage the public in the NCD and TB Mukt Bharat (Tuberculosis-Free India) campaigns.

Dr. Sharma also reviewed activities being carried out under the TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan. He instructed proper use of NAAT (Nucleic Acid Amplification Test) machines for TB diagnosis, 100% treatment of drug-sensitive TB patients, and seriousness in disbursing benefits under the Nikshay Poshan Yojana to eligible beneficiaries.

The review meeting also covered progress and directives for other programmes, including the Chief Minister’s Model Village Panchayat Scheme, the Ma Netra Voucher Scheme, the Oral Health Programme, and the Mission Liver Smile initiative. Guidelines were also issued regarding preparations for the upcoming International Yoga Day on June 21.

The video conference was attended by Dr. Madhu, Director of RCH (Reproductive and Child Health), NHM Project Director Shri Santosh Goyal, and project directors of all health programmes. Officials from districts—including Joint Directors, Deputy Directors, CMHOs, and District Reproductive and Child Health Officers—also joined the meeting.
