CM Devendra Fadnavis Inaugurates Exhibition and Sale of Prison-Made Products
Mumbai : Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis inaugurated an exhibition and sale of products made by prison inmates at the Mantralaya. The event was attended by Minister of State for Home (Rural) Dr. Pankaj Bhoyar.
The exhibition is being held at the Trimurti Courtyard of Mantralaya from June 10 to 12, 2025, and the displayed items are available for purchase. Products on display have been crafted by inmates from Yerawada Central Jail (Pune), Kalamba Central Jail (Kolhapur), Nagpur, Amravati, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Thane, and Nashik Road Central Jails.
CM Fadnavis encouraged the public to take advantage of the opportunity, emphasizing that high-quality items are available at very affordable prices.
The exhibition features a variety of products made by inmates, including furniture and decorative items made from teakwood, pooja cabinets, clothing, handkerchiefs, towels, bed sheets, rugs, sarees, bakery items, biscuits, and other daily use items.
Ministers Visit and Support the Exhibition
Several ministers, including Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar, visited the exhibition and supported the initiative by purchasing items.
Agriculture Minister Adv. Manikrao Kokate, Food and Drug Administration Minister Narhari Zirwal, and Minister of State for Home (Rural) Dr. Pankaj Bhoyar also visited various stalls, inspected the products, and made purchases.
Senior officials such as Principal Secretary (Appeals & Security – Prisons) Radhika Rastogi, Additional Director General of Police (Prisons) Dr. Suhas Varke, Principal Secretary (Home) Anup Kumar Singh, and Joint Secretary Sugreev Dhapate, along with other Home Department officers, were also present at the event.
