CM Pushkar Singh Dhami Virtually Inaugurates New Axis Bank Branches in Guptkashi and Jyotirmath

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in a programme held at the Mukhya Sevak Sadan at the Chief Minister’s residence on Thursday, where he virtually inaugurated new branches of Axis Bank in Guptkashi and Jyotirmath.

Expressing his happiness over the opening of these new branches, the Chief Minister said that this move would help extend modern banking services to border regions. He added that the initiative will promote financial inclusion and accelerate regional development. Both Guptkashi and Jyotirmath are important halts on the Char Dham Yatra, and the presence of bank branches in these locations will benefit both the local residents and pilgrims.

The Chief Minister assured that the state government will provide all necessary support to strengthen the banking infrastructure across Uttarakhand. He highlighted that a rehabilitation plan worth over ₹1,700 crore is currently underway in Jyotirmath with support from the Government of India.

CM Dhami emphasized that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India is moving forward with the resolve of becoming a developed nation, and this goal can only be achieved when even the last person in the remotest region is connected to the mainstream of development.

He mentioned several initiatives like the Jan Dhan Yojana and Mudra Yojana, which have enabled every citizen in the country to access banking services. Over 55 crore Jan Dhan accounts have been opened, ensuring that benefits of various government schemes are transferred directly to beneficiaries’ accounts.

The Chief Minister reaffirmed that the state government is working to strengthen financial inclusion, and Uttarakhand ranks second in financial discipline. In the NITI Aayog’s Sustainable Development Goals Index, the state has secured first place.

He also stressed that the government is striving to ensure banking, financial, and insurance services reach every citizen, and is expanding e-governance, mobile apps, and digital services to villages, making everyday life easier for people.

Among those present on the occasion were Rajya Sabha MP and BJP State President Mahendra Bhatt, MLAs Bansidhar Bhagat, Dr. Mohan Singh Bisht, Mrs. Asha Nautiyal, Axis Bank MD Amitabh Chaudhry, and Additional Secretary Manmohan Mainali.
