Hezbollah Vows Full Support to Iran Amid Escalating Israel Conflict as U.S. Warns of Regional Fallout

Beirut – In the wake of growing hostilities between Iran and Israel, Hezbollah’s deputy leader Sheikh Naim Qassem has declared full support for Iran and condemned U.S. involvement in the region. Speaking on Thursday night, Qassem defended Iran’s nuclear ambitions and accused Western powers of targeting Tehran not because of its technology, but because of its values.

“Iran’s nuclear program is peaceful and poses no threat to anyone,” Qassem stated, as reported by The Jerusalem Post. “It is a remarkable scientific achievement that benefits Iran and the region, built on self-reliance without any foreign control.”

Qassem argued that the real reason the international community opposes Iran lies in its defiance of Western dominance and its support for the oppressed. “They oppose Iran not because of its nuclear capability, but because it promotes faith, knowledge, and freedom,” he said. “Iran stands with the oppressed, and this is what they cannot tolerate.”

In his speech, Qassem launched a scathing attack on U.S. President Donald Trump, criticizing Washington’s threats against Tehran. “America is dragging the region into chaos and instability,” he warned. “Its reckless policies are pushing the world toward open-ended crises, and this will only lead to disgrace and failure for the United States.”

Hezbollah, a key Iranian ally in the region, reiterated its stance of solidarity with Tehran. “Iran has the right to defend itself,” Qassem declared. “And the people of this region, along with freedom-seeking individuals around the world, have a duty to stand beside Iran and its leadership.”

He also reaffirmed Hezbollah’s loyalty to Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, calling on allies and supporters to unite behind him. “We urge all free people, resistance fighters, scholars, and defenders of truth to raise their voices and show their strength,” he said. “Stand firm behind the most noble and honorable leadership of Imam Khamenei.”

However, Hezbollah’s open backing of Iran has drawn sharp warnings from the United States. During a visit to Beirut, U.S. Special Envoy for Syria and Ambassador to Turkey, Thomas Barrack, strongly cautioned Hezbollah against entering the conflict. Following a meeting with Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri, a known ally of Hezbollah, Barrack told reporters, “It would be a very, very, very bad decision for Hezbollah to join the war.”

Barrack made it clear he was speaking on behalf of President Trump and U.S. Special Envoy Steve Witkoff. “This message comes directly from the President,” he added, emphasizing that Washington continues to pressure the Lebanese government to disarm Hezbollah amid rising regional tensions.

The Biden administration, meanwhile, has left the door open for diplomacy. White House Press Secretary Caroline Levitt told reporters on Thursday that President Trump will decide within two weeks whether the U.S. will officially join Israel in its ongoing conflict with Iran. “There is a significant possibility of either a return to negotiations or a deeper military engagement,” Levitt said, quoting the President.

Addressing the core issue of Iran’s nuclear program, Levitt reiterated the administration’s firm stance. “There will be no enrichment of uranium, and Iran must never be allowed to acquire nuclear weapons. The President has been unambiguous on that point.”

Tensions in the Middle East have sharply escalated since June 13, when Israel launched Operation “Rising Lion,” targeting Iranian nuclear sites. In retaliation, Iran carried out a series of counterstrikes, raising fears of a prolonged and wider regional conflict.

President Trump, addressing the media on Wednesday, dismissed reports that he had already authorized a full military campaign. He stressed his preference for resolving the crisis through diplomacy. “I don’t want war,” he said. “But if the choice is between confrontation and allowing a nuclear-armed Iran, then we must act decisively.”

The situation remains fluid, with global powers watching closely as the crisis unfolds. While Hezbollah’s unwavering loyalty to Tehran adds another layer of complexity, Washington’s warnings and Iran’s defiance continue to push the region toward a critical juncture.
