“Schemes Must Deliver Tangible Benefits on the Ground”: Shri Tokhan Sahu
Union Minister Chairs DISHA Meeting; Stresses on Timely Resolution of Revenue Issues and Availability of Fertilizers, Seeds, and Medicines
Raipur : Union Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs and Bilaspur MP Shri Tokhan Sahu chaired the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) meeting today. Held at the Bilaspur Collectorate, the meeting focused on reviewing the progress of flagship central and state government schemes.
Shri Sahu directed officials to ensure that the benefits of government schemes are visible at the grassroots level. Emphasizing the welfare intentions behind both state and central government initiatives, he warned that negligence in their implementation would not be tolerated. He instructed officials to launch special drives to expedite the resolution of revenue-related cases, ensuring that farmers and rural citizens are not made to run from pillar to post.
Prominent attendees included MLAs Dharamlal Kaushik, Dharamjeet Singh, Dilip Lahariya, Sushant Shukla, Atal Shrivastava, Bilaspur Mayor Smt. Pooja Vidhani, and District Panchayat President Shri Rajesh Suryavanshi.
Shri Sahu also instructed officials to resolve all revenue cases in a timely manner and ensure their online documentation. He stressed that every eligible beneficiary must receive the entitlements under government schemes. With the upcoming Kharif season, he directed officials to guarantee adequate availability of fertilizers and seeds for farmers.
He also emphasized the cleaning of urban drains and preventive measures against waterlogging. Additionally, he instructed health officials to ensure adequate availability of medicines in hospitals to handle seasonal diseases.
On the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), the Union Minister made it clear that no laxity or fraud would be tolerated and ordered strict action against defaulters. He also called for strict monitoring of the quality of roads being built under the PM Gram Sadak Yojana and PM Janman Yojana, and instructed that signboards be mandatorily placed at all project sites.
Shri Sahu urged legislators to be consulted while finalizing the upcoming action plan for Smart City projects.
He also issued directives regarding the city sanitation system, repair of Anicut gates, expedited completion of Jal Jeevan Mission works, and mass plantation drives in Bilaspur district.
The meeting was attended by Collector Shri Sanjay Agarwal, SSP Shri Rajneesh Singh, Municipal Commissioner Shri Amit Kumar, District Panchayat CEO Shri Sandeep Agarwal, and presidents of Janpad Panchayats, municipal councils, and Nagar Panchayats.
