“Ensure Strong Representation for Rajasthan Tourism at International Marts; Study Tribal Museums in Other States for Our ‘Tribal Circuit’” – Deputy CM Diya Kumari

Jaipur : Under the chairmanship of Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari, the Tourism Department held a review meeting Thursday at the Tourism Bhawan in Jaipur. RTDC Chairman Rajesh Yadav and Tourism Commissioner Rukmani Riar were present.

  • International Marts & Branding:
    Diya Kumari stressed that Rajasthan must secure extensive participation at international travel marts, to boost global branding of the state and generate measurable returns.
  • Expanding Travel Marts Beyond Jaipur:
    She urged development of travel marts in other cities—starting with Kota—to showcase each district’s unique tourism potential and attract both domestic and foreign visitors.
  • Grand War Museums:
    In line with the recent budget announcement, the Deputy CM called for the creation of a War Museum in Jhunjhunu and proposed a second, equally grand facility in western Rajasthan.
  • Tribal Circuit Project:
    Diya Kumari directed officials to design an ambitious Tribal Circuit Project, incorporating best practices from successful tribal museums in other states.
  • Amer as Iconic Tourist Center:
    Recognizing Amer as an enchanting heritage town, she recommended its development into an Iconic Tourist Center.
  • Govind Dev Ji Temple Precinct:
    She ordered the formulation and execution—through JDA—of a masterplan to provide pilgrims visiting Govind Dev Ji Temple with parking and other essential amenities, ensuring dignified, spacious facilities.
  • Light & Sound Shows:
    The Deputy CM called for spectacular light-and-sound shows at Jaipur and other major sites, and encouraged AR/VR experiences to enrich heritage interpretation.
  • Teej Festival Fair & Women’s Empowerment:
    She instructed that this year’s Teej celebrations feature a grand main stage at Chhoti Chopad for Teej Mata worship and a two-day women’s fair at Pondrik Garden, showcasing women-led stalls.
  • Women’s Guide Training:
    Diya Kumari directed specialized tour guide training programs for women to enhance their skills and employability in the tourism sector.
  • Tourist Facilitation Center Upgrade:
    She ordered a transformation of the Tourist Facilitation Center on Chowda Rasta into a landmark with Rajasthani handicrafts, an information desk, rooftop restaurant, and other amenities.
  • Sanitation & Public Toilets:
    In collaboration with the Municipal Corporation, she called for daily cleanliness drives in the walled city and construction of public toilets to improve hygiene.

The meeting was attended by ED RTDC & ADD (Tourism), Rajesh Singh; ADD Tourism Admin (I/c) Anand Tripathi; Joint Directors Rajesh Sharma (Development), Punita Singh (Fairs & Festivals), Dalip Singh (Marketing); Deputy Director Upendra Singh Shekhawat, and other departmental officers.
