Chief Minister M.K. Stalin inaugurated and laid the foundation stones of key public works and distributed welfare aid

  • Completed Works: Laid the foundation and inaugurated 90 completed projects valued at ₹517 crore.
  • New Projects: Laid foundations for 60 new schemes worth ₹68.76 crore.
  • Welfare Assistance: Distributed ₹273.83 crore in government welfare aid to 100,168 beneficiaries.

The Hon’ble Chief Minister traveled by the Central Express from Chennai Central to Kalpadi station, where he was received by dignitaries from the State Government, Members of Parliament and Legislative Assembly, and local residents.

Thereafter, at a ceremony at the Government Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Medical College & Hospital in Navalur, he inaugurated:

  • Upgraded ICU and outpatient facilities costing ₹197.81 crore, and
  • Additional works at seven Primary Health Centers, valued at ₹7 crore, along with new facilities at two sub-centers, all via video link.

He then visited the government’s “Dream Home” project at Boothur in Navalur, reviewed beneficiary homes, interacted with residents, and took note of their feedback.

Rural Development and Panchayats: In the villages of Pudhur Nadu, Panallyaval Nadu, Kanavaripattu, Kunichi, and Pevvattur, the Government has funded the following local infrastructure under the Panchayat Union’s middle schools:

  • Classroom construction: ₹1.80 lakh per school, serving five schools, totaling ₹8.5 lakh.
  • Panchayat office at Nagapattu: ₹30,000 for protective boundary walls.
  • Rural health sub–centre in Pudhur Nadu Panchayat: ₹30,000 for basic healthcare facilities.
  • New Anganwadi centres: In Chinnamattoor, Kunichi, and Balur, five Anganwadis were built at ₹50,000 each (total ₹2.5 lakh).
  • Fair-price shops: In Sikkananguppam, Adiyur, Kurumpanagari, and Kathari, four new ration shops at ₹47,750 each.
  • Bus shelters: In Narayanpuram and Pachanikkindanpalli schools, four shelters at ₹16,000 each.
  • Modern toilet blocks: In Arangalthur, Kalnarempatti, Pandarapalli, Payandipuram settlements, Simmanaputhur, and Pevvattur, 37 blocks at ₹60,000 apiece.
  • Community water taps: In Pounayikkuppam, Pariyakollapatti, Pevvattur, and Kunichi, 31 units at ₹4,000 each.

Welfare for Scheduled Tribes and Adivasis: In the villages of Thayalur, Nilavur, and Mangalam, ₹51,800 was spent on boundary walls around burial grounds. In Panallyaval Nadu, 17 new Anganwadi buildings were erected at ₹60,000 each. At Athanavur Panchayat Union primary school, boundary walls were built at ₹17,540. In Periyur hamlet, ₹26,720 funded compound fencing.

Solar streetlights and water works: In Mangalam, Puliur, Chinnavadainur, Nagamadap, Naddakuppam, Arumalapatti, Seegapattan, and Mambakkam, ₹1.05 lakh funded 96 solar streetlights. In Mandalyandipatti, Thagarkuppam, Perumballi, Mangalam, Eripadar, and Athanavur, ₹52,130 financed community water taps. In Mambakkam, ₹8,770 built a fair-price shop. In Seegapattan and Periyur, ₹17,400 established new hand-pumps.

Water supply upgrades: In Namapurampettu, pump-sets and pipelines were installed at ₹1.69 lakh. In Mambakkam, ₹6.35 lakh funded a mourning shelter. In Mambakkam, Aremarathukpagaladu, Chinnavadainur, and again Mambakkam, ₹21,810 provided new borewells, hand-pumps, and suction pipes. In Panallyaval and Namalpattu, ₹11,000 installed new power-driven pumps and electric wiring. In Eripadar and Paraknadapatti, ₹7,820 carried out pipeline replacements from the open well. In Mambakkam, ₹4,080 extended household water connections. In Mangalam, ₹1,690 laid new distribution pipe segments. In Periyur, ₹1,580 installed an open-well pump house.

Urban Sanitation & Water Supply: In the municipalities of Ambur—Connurarkuppam, Badhanlakum, Kasba, Nagavindapuram—₹2.80 lakh was spent on public toilet construction at middle schools.

Forest Department Works: In Tirupattur, ₹29,700 funded an inspection shed at the forest research camp; in Tirupattur and Alangayam, ₹40,100 built forest department offices.

Women & Child Welfare: In Navalur, Namalpattu, Chinnamookkanur, and Periya Kammiyampattu, six new Anganwadi complexes costing ₹61,800 were established.

Veterinary Services: In Kunichi, ₹58,500 equipped a veterinary dispensary.

With these works—worth a total of ₹174.39 crore—the Hon’ble Chief Minister inaugurated 90 completed projects on Tuesday.

At the government festival held in Tirupattur district, Hon’ble Chief Minister M.K. Stalin formally opened and laid foundation stones for a total of 60 new projects, worth ₹68.76 lakh. These included:

  • Health & Public Welfare:
    Vaniyambadi Government Hospital: Outpatient department and ICU expansion at a cost of ₹47.94 lakh.
    Government Rajiv Gandhi Medical College Outpatient & Diagnostic Centre (Periyur): New rehabilitation unit and life-support ward upgrades costing ₹2.14 lakh.
    Additional Health Facilities:
    • New primary health centre block in Nallur (₹1.70 lakh)
    • Urban primary health centre in Vaniyambadi (₹1.20 lakh)
    • Rural health sub-centre in Tirupattur (₹0.30 lakh)
  • Urban Administration & Water Supply:
    Tirupattur Municipal Office: New office building at ₹4.95 lakh.
  • Rural Development & Panchayats:
    Panchayat Union Buildings: New union office blocks in Mathanur and Kandili.
    Road Upgradation: Black-topping of 27 rural roads across the district.
    Health Sub-Centres & Upgrades: Additional PHC blocks at Pichanur and Pavalkalnatham; two new sub-centres in Andiyappanur and Pachur; 55 works totaling ₹40.92 lakh.
  • Commercial Taxes & Registration:
    Ambur Sub-Collectorate Office: New commercial tax office block at ₹1.69 lakh.
  • Tribal & Adivasi Welfare:
    Community Halls: Two new tribal community halls in Athanavur and Pudurnadu at ₹1.20 lakh each.

This marked the inauguration of 90 completed projects, valued at ₹517 crore, and the commencement of these 60 new works. Altogether, the Chief Minister distributed welfare assistance totaling ₹273.83 crore to 100,168 beneficiaries across various government schemes.
