Lucknow – When leadership is driven by resolve and the administration backs it with action, change becomes not just a goal, but a tradition. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, education in Uttar Pradesh is being established as a strong foundation for social inclusion and equal opportunity. In this direction, the second phase of the ‘School Chalo Abhiyan’ will be conducted across the state from July 1 to July 15, 2025, marking the beginning of the academic session 2025–26.

The state government has already released ₹2 lakh to every district for the smooth execution of this campaign. This is not merely an enrollment drive, but a dedicated effort to bring education to children who are still out of school. All government primary schools will be cleaned, beautified, and decorated in a festive manner as they reopen on July 1 after the summer vacation. Each child will be welcomed with roli-chandan (auspicious red turmeric paste), garlands, and delightful traditional food items. The mid-day meal on this day will include special dishes like halwa and kheer, making the experience one of warmth, celebration, and motivation.

Focus on enrollment and dropout prevention

As part of the campaign, teachers, instructors, Shiksha Mitras, and SMC (School Management Committee) members will go door-to-door to ensure maximum enrollment. Special efforts will be made to identify school dropouts and out-of-school children, and to engage with their parents. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has consistently emphasized that no child between the ages of 6 and 14 should be left out of school, and this remains a top government priority.

Special attention to girls’ education

Special emphasis will be placed on enrolling and retaining girls who have dropped out due to household responsibilities or societal reasons. Meena Manch platforms will be activated in schools, using plays, storytelling, and discussions to raise awareness about the importance of girls’ education.

Focused outreach to vulnerable communities

Children from vulnerable backgrounds—such as those working at brick kilns, living in slums, near railway stations, or belonging to nomadic and tribal communities—will be specifically targeted. Special meetings will be conducted in schools to ensure 100% enrollment of these children.

Mass awareness drive to be carried out for meaningful change

Widespread awareness campaigns will be carried out through rallies, public announcements, and social media outreach. Influential individuals in the community, self-help groups, NGOs, and parents will be actively involved in the campaign to amplify its impact.

Data monitoring and portal updates

All enrollment-related data will be mandatorily uploaded on the school registers, U-DISE, and Prerna Portal. A Data Collection Format (DCF) has already been created within the SMC module of the Prerna Portal, and its complete entry must be ensured by July 30, 2025.

District administration to play key role

Meetings (goshtis) will be organized at district and block levels under the chairmanship of the District Magistrate. These will review the status of out-of-school children, student enrollments, and attendance. Action plans and strategies will be formulated and implemented based on this data.

It’s not just a campaign, but our firm resolve to ensure every child gets the right to education.
