CM Pushkar Singh Dhami Participates in All India Oil Sector Meet at ONGC Community Centre, Dehradun
Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami attended the All India Oil Sector Meet organized at the ONGC Community Centre in Dehradun on Saturday.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the Uttarakhand state government is promoting green energy through a balanced focus on economy, ecology, and technology. He highlighted that the Mukhyamantri Saur Swarozgar Yojana is encouraging clean and green energy in the state.
He pointed out that major hydroelectric projects such as Tehri, Koteshwar, Pipalkoti, Lakhwar, and Vishnugad are playing a crucial role in establishing Uttarakhand as an energy hub. The Chief Minister also emphasized that the state has vast potential in the field of geothermal energy, and the government is continuously working to explore and develop it.
Shri Dhami remarked that natural resources play a vital role in the progress of any nation, and that fuel not only supports national development but also meets our everyday needs. He praised ONGC for contributing approximately 70% of the country’s crude oil production and 84% of natural gas output, making it a key player in India’s energy security.
The Chief Minister said that Prime Minister Modi has laid before the nation the vision of a self-reliant and developed India, with the goal of achieving this by the year 2047. Under his leadership, strategic petroleum reserves have been established to strengthen India’s energy security, while green hydrogen and solar energy are also being promoted. Work is ongoing to develop multiple alternative energy sources, making India more self-reliant in the energy sector.
He further noted that significant developments have taken place in the oil and natural gas sectors. Under the One Nation, One Grid initiative, gas pipelines are being expanded and the gas distribution network has been made more efficient and accessible. Bio-CNG plants are being established, and schemes like the Ujjwala Yojana have brought transformative changes to society. Several policies have also been introduced to boost oil production, and India has increased its investment in the oil and natural gas sectors abroad as well.
The Chief Minister acknowledged ONGC’s valuable contributions in Uttarakhand and emphasized the benefits the state has received from its initiatives.
Also present at the event were Hiranmay Pandya, President of the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh, along with Anupam, Gopal Joshi, Neeraj Sharma, Pawan Kumar, Devendra Bisht, Sumit Singhal, and several others.
