“Success Assurance” Initiative Launched; 3rd Anniversary of Naan Mudhalvan Scheme Celebrated at Chennai’s Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium
Chennai : Hon’ble Minister for Youth Welfare and Sports Development of Tamil Nadu, Thiru. Udhayanidhi Stalin, delivered the keynote address at the third anniversary celebration of the Naan Mudhalvan (I Am the First) scheme and the official launch of the “Success Assurance” program, held at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium, Chennai.
The Minister stated that the Naan Mudhalvan initiative, launched three years ago under the visionary leadership of Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, aims to bring light into every household by empowering the youth of the state through skill development and higher education opportunities.
He highlighted that the scheme has become a cornerstone in the state’s development efforts. So far, over 41 lakh skill certificates have been issued through Naan Mudhalvan, and more than 3 lakh youth have secured employment through the scheme’s job placement drives and college campus interviews.
He also noted the scheme’s international success, where students have travelled to countries like Japan and the UK for specialized skill training and some have even secured employment abroad. In addition, the scheme supports youth preparing for Union Government jobs, offering training and incentives that have significantly increased the number of Tamil Nadu candidates clearing UPSC exams since the scheme’s launch.
The Minister added that special programs like Naan Mudhalvan Olympiad, Higher Studies Track, and College Readiness modules have been initiated to help school students transition into higher education, including counseling and financial assistance for students unable to pursue college after finishing school.
The newly launched “Success Assurance” initiative is not just a symbolic expansion of the scheme but a targeted effort to ensure that every youth trained under Naan Mudhalvan achieves success. The plan focuses on micro-level, demand-driven skill training, based on market needs.
The program offers training in 165 skill areas across 38 sectors through over 500 training institutions. Importantly, the government bears the entire cost of training, ensuring access for all. Initially, the scheme aims to train 75,000 youth annually, for which the Chief Minister has allocated ₹100 crore in funding.
Special efforts are also being made to include differently-abled persons, women, and students from disadvantaged backgrounds, with additional incentives provided to ensure their participation.
The Minister expressed his gratitude to all who made the scheme a success and emphasized that Naan Mudhalvan is not just a skill development program, but a transformative mission to make Tamil Nadu’s youth the foundation of a progressive and prosperous society.
He offered his congratulations to the trainees and thanked everyone for their support in making the Success Assurance celebration a memorable event.
“Success Assurance is not just a slogan — it is Tamil Nadu’s solemn promise to stand by its youth on their path to success.”
