Shri Bheem Singh inspects Manthan Food Lab and Mahua Center Reviews PM Janman Yojana
Raipur : Under the PM Janman Yojana, women self-help groups in Jashpur district are being provided employment through the processing of forest produce. In addition, basic facilities are being made available in settlements of Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs). Secretary of Panchayat and Rural Development Department, Shri Bheem Singh, inspected the Manthan Food Lab and Mahua Center. On this occasion, he instructed officials to create more employment opportunities for self-help groups and ensure access to marketing and other facilities for their products.
Secretary Shri Bheem Singh also inspected the PM Janman housing constructed for PVTG families belonging to the Pahadi Korwa tribe under the Janman program in Karadega and Chhatauri gram panchayats of the Manora development block. He inquired about the benefits these families are receiving from various schemes of the Chhattisgarh government. He directed officials to ensure that these families receive all basic amenities along with healthcare services and that women are linked to self-help groups for livelihood promotion.
Officials informed that a new project is being initiated in Manora and Bagicha development blocks for the holistic development of Pahadi Korwa families.
Providing details about the Jaspyur brand products being manufactured in Jashpur, officials said that various Mahua-based products like Mahua laddoos, Mahua tea, and 14 other flavored teas are being prepared, which are in demand both within and outside the state. It was also mentioned that these products are being sold online.
During the inspection visit, key officials from the District Panchayat, National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM), Poshit Maa Khudiya Rani Farmer Producer Organization, and Jai Jungle Farmer Producer Company were present.
