CM Yogi calls for immediate action against unauthorized buses in Uttar Pradesh.

Lucknow : In response to the recent Unnao bus accident, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has taken a firm stand, directing Transport department officials to ensure strict compliance with road safety regulations. The CM has warned the Transport Department that any unauthorized buses found on the state’s roads in the future will result in severe action against the responsible officials.

In a high-level meeting held at his official residence, CM Yogi emphasized the importance of thorough checks on permits, fitness, insurance, and drivers of all passenger and school buses operating in the state. Following the Chief Minister’s directives, the Transport Department has announced a month-long intensive campaign to crack down on unauthorized vehicles.

CM Yogi has issued stern directives to the Principal Secretary of Transport, questioning how unauthorized buses are plying freely on the state’s roads. He has ordered an uncompromising campaign against such buses and called for necessary actions against their owners.

He emphasized that senior Transport department officials will be held responsible wherever such buses are found operating. He declared that any compromise on passenger safety is unacceptable. He then instructed that the fitness, permits, insurance, and drivers of all registered passenger and school buses in the state must be thoroughly inspected.

The CM warned that if any incident occurs after these inspections, the Transport department officials will be held directly responsible. He made it clear that unauthorized vehicles must not be allowed on the roads under any circumstances and must be stopped before they even reach the road.

Following Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s strict orders, Transport Commissioner Chandrabhushan Singh has initiated a comprehensive month-long road campaign targeting unauthorized vehicles across Uttar Pradesh. The campaign will include rigorous checks on both passenger buses and school vehicles.

The Transport Commissioner has instructed all Deputy Transport Commissioners (Zones), Regional Transport Officers (Administration/Enforcement), and Assistant Regional Transport Officers (Administration/Enforcement) to conduct these inspections continuously for the entire month. A detailed schedule has been prepared, assigning date-wise duty of Regional Transport Officers at various toll plazas.

Along with this, instructions have been given that on the prescribed dates, each Divisional Transport Officer (Enforcement) will personally appear at the respective toll plaza and take enforcement action along with all the Enforcement Officers of the region. One interceptor will be deployed at each identified place. Information and photos of the action taken during this period will be sent to the WhatsApp group of the department.
