In the context of Ashadhi Wari, all agencies should work with utmost vigilance over the next three days: District Collector Kumar Ashirwad

Solapur : In light of the Ashadhi Wari festival, the administration has provided various amenities for pilgrims and devotees. The Chief Minister inspected these facilities and expressed satisfaction, while also issuing instructions to fill potholes on roads, increase the number of toilets, remove billboards obstructing roads, and take other necessary actions. Accordingly, all relevant departments should promptly act on these directives and work with utmost vigilance over the next three days to ensure the successful completion of the Ashadhi Wari, urged District Collector Kumar Ashirwad.

District Collector Ashirwad provided guidance at a review meeting held at the Conference Hall of Bhaktanivas in the context of the Ashadhi Wari. Present at the meeting were Additional District Collector Monika Singh Thakur, Municipal Corporation Deputy Commissioner Ashish Lokre, Temple Committee Executive Officer Rajendra Shelke, Deputy Collector Amrut Natekar, Sub-Divisional Officer Sachin Ithape, Sub-Divisional Officer Amit Mali, District Surgeon Dr. Suhas Mane, District Health Officer Dr. Suresh Navle, Chief Officer Prashant Jadhav, and other relevant department heads.

District Collector Ashirwad stated that on the occasion of Ashadhi Wari, the Chief Minister will conduct the government Mahapuja of Vitthal and Rukmini on July 17, 2024. Given the expectation of a minimum of ten to fifteen lakh devotees visiting Pandharpur city, the administration has provided various amenities over the past two months. According to the Chief Minister’s instructions, certain changes and enhancements have been recommended, and all relevant departments should promptly complete these tasks, he instructed.

The municipal council should immediately remove electricity poles and billboards from the roads in Pandharpur city and ensure the roads are clear. They should also promptly fill potholes on the roads. The number of changing rooms in the Chandrabhaga Wasteland should be increased. Measures should be taken to prevent waterlogging by filling areas with gravel and sand where mud has accumulated. Additional manpower should be deployed to maintain cleanliness in the city, instructed District Collector Ashirwad.

The health department should increase the number of fans and coolers in the intensive care unit. Similar arrangements should be made at the health facilities set up at Wakhari Palkhitale and the 65-acre area. Health teams should be on standby to ensure patients do not face any issues. The motorcycle health messenger service should be highly efficient. The electricity distribution company should ensure an uninterrupted power supply in Pandharpur city over the next three days. The Pandharpur Sub-Divisional Officer should issue orders for the closure of mutton and chicken shops. Life jackets should be distributed to boat operators on the Chandrabhaga River, and strict action, including boat seizure, should be taken against those operating without jackets, directed District Collector Ashirwad.

All heads of government departments are diligently fulfilling their responsibilities in the context of the Wari. However, the last three days are crucial, and everyone should perform their duties with utmost vigilance, appealed District Collector Ashirwad.
