MoU Signed Between Rajfed and National Multi-State Cooperative Societies to Benefit Farmers and Cooperatives

High-quality seeds and better marketing opportunities for organic products assured through tie-ups with BBSSL and NCOL

Jaipur : To provide high-quality seeds to farmers and support the marketing of organic produce, Rajasthan State Cooperative Marketing Federation (Rajfed) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Bharatiya Beej Sahakari Samiti Ltd. (BBSSL) and the National Cooperative Organics Ltd. (NCOL). The signing ceremony was held on Wednesday at the Rajfed office. These MoUs are expected to directly benefit farmers and members of cooperative societies in the near future.

Under the leadership of Minister of State for Cooperation (Independent Charge) Shri Gautam Kumar Dac and the guidance of Principal Secretary and Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Smt. Manju Rajpal, the state is actively advancing the initiative of ‘Prosperity through Cooperation’ (Sahakar se Samriddhi). These MoUs align with their vision and will help promote organic product marketing, provide farmers with high-quality seeds, generate better livelihood opportunities, and improve market access for farmer groups.

The MoU with NCOL will specifically enhance marketing opportunities for Basmati rice, paddy, wheat, pulses, honey, millets, and medicinal products.

On behalf of Rajfed, the MoU was signed by Managing Director Shri Tikam Chand Bohra, while Institutional Head Shri Parampveer Yadav signed on behalf of BBSSL, and Cooperative Head Shri Vineet Kumar signed on behalf of NCOL.

It is noteworthy that the Government of Rajasthan has designated Rajfed as the nodal agency for facilitating the availability of organic products through NCOL and high-quality seeds through BBSSL. So far, over 2,700 cooperative societies in the state have enrolled with BBSSL, and around 217 cooperative societies have become members of NCOL.

General Manager of Rajfed Shri Amit Sharma, and Consultant of the Sahakar se Samriddhi initiative Shri R.S. Jodha, along with other officials, were present at the event.
