CM Shri Bhupendra Patel Takes Strict Action Against Officials Based on Preliminary Findings in Mujpur-Gambhira Bridge Incident

Gandhinagar : Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel has issued directives for a detailed and high-level investigation into the accident involving the Mujpur-Gambhira bridge connecting Vadodara and Anand.

Since the moment he was informed about the incident yesterday, the Chief Minister has remained in constant contact with the Roads and Buildings Department and the concerned district collectors, providing guidance for rescue and relief operations.

The Chief Minister appointed a team of experts to prepare a comprehensive report covering all aspects related to the Mujpur-Gambhira bridge, including repairs, inspections, and quality checks conducted over the years up to the present.

 Based on the preliminary findings observed during the on-site visit by the expert team, Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel has taken the decision to suspend the following officials with immediate effect for their responsibility in the accident: Shri N.M. Nayakawala, Executive Engineer; Shri U.C. Patel, Deputy Executive Engineer; Shri R.T. Patel, Deputy Executive Engineer; and Shri J.V. Shah, Assistant Engineer.

 Additionally, prioritising public interest and the safety of other bridges across the state, the Chief Minister has directed that all such structures undergo immediate and thorough inspection.
