CM Stalin Launches ‘Ungaludan Stalin’ – A Government-at-Your-Doorstep Initiative

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Thiru M.K. Stalin today officially launched the ambitious new outreach program “Ungaludan Stalin” (With You, Stalin)” at a special camp in Chidambaram, Cuddalore district. This initiative aims to bring government services and welfare schemes directly to the doorsteps of the people, especially targeting underprivileged and remote communities.

Government Comes Home

Under this scheme, government officials will visit citizens in their homes to resolve issues, deliver welfare benefits, and collect petitions. Within just one hour of the inaugural camp, the Chief Minister personally handed over:

  • A prosthetic limb to a differently-abled beneficiary, Mr. Perish;
  • A health insurance card under the CM’s Comprehensive Health Insurance Scheme to Ms. Senthamizh Selvi;
  • An electricity meter change order to Mr. Subramani, who had requested replacement due to failure.

Massive Statewide Rollout

The Chief Minister had earlier announced that 10,000 such camps will be held across Tamil Nadu from July 15 to November 2025. In the first phase alone, 3,563 camps are scheduled, of which 1,428 are in urban areas and 2,135 in rural regions.

At each location, trained volunteers and government staff will assist residents with filing petitions, accessing welfare schemes, and submitting documents. Special information desks will be set up, and awareness drives will be conducted door-to-door by field officers appointed for every district, block, municipality, town panchayat, and village panchayat.

Multi-Department Participation

The camp in Chidambaram featured integrated services from multiple departments, including:

  • Health and Family Welfare
  • Social Welfare and Women’s Rights
  • Labour Welfare
  • Revenue
  • Rural Development
  • Municipal Administration

In urban areas, 43 services from 13 departments are offered, while rural areas receive 46 services from 15 departments. Petitions that can be resolved immediately will be handled on the spot; others will be resolved within a maximum of 45 days.

Outreach and Monitoring

The Chief Minister emphasized that district collectors will act as nodal officers, overseeing outreach activities and camp coordination. A state-level monitoring cell has also been formed.

Earlier, on July 11, 2025, CM Stalin reviewed the implementation readiness via video conference with district collectors, focusing on awareness drives, water supply, and essential service delivery. He reiterated that the “Ungaludan Stalin” scheme reflects the government’s commitment to reaching people where they live, providing timely, transparent, and effective governance.

Cuddalore Leads the Way

Cuddalore district will conduct 378 camps, including 248 in rural and 130 in urban areas, with 13 camps in Chidambaram municipality alone. Camps are also offering medical services alongside government schemes.
