No Soldier’s Wrist Should Remain Bare: Chhattisgarh Sisters Send Rakhi Threads and Heartfelt Letters to Brave Soldiers
Raipur : Ahead of Raksha Bandhan, an inspiring display of patriotism and fraternity has emerged from Chhattisgarh. Women from North Bastar Kanker district have sent rakhis (protective threads) and heartfelt letters to Indian soldiers posted at the borders, expressing that their protectors are not just their brothers at home but also the brave warriors guarding the nation.

This thoughtful gesture not only adds new meaning to the festival of Raksha Bandhan but also symbolizes civic responsibility and emotional unity toward the country. The emotional appeal from the heartland of Chhattisgarh sends a powerful message: As long as our soldiers stay awake, the nation sleeps in peace. The rakhis tied on the wrists of these soldiers are a symbolic prayer from sisters across India.
A deeply emotional moment was witnessed during the review meeting of the DISHA Committee in the Kanker Lok Sabha constituency, chaired by MP Shri Bhojraj Nag. After the meeting, women beneficiaries of the Mahtari Vandana Yojana and Anganwadi workers from the Women and Child Development Department handed over handmade rakhis and letters to the MP, requesting him to ensure their safe delivery to the soldiers on the frontlines.
Appreciating the heartfelt gesture, MP Shri Bhojraj Nag said, “We can only feel secure within the country because our soldiers are steadfast at the borders day and night. These rakhis embody the blessings and gratitude of the women of our nation, and they will undoubtedly uplift the morale of our brave soldiers.” He assured that each letter and rakhi will be delivered to the soldiers.
The Kanker District Collector also made an emotional appeal to all women in the district, urging them to send rakhis to their soldier brothers this Raksha Bandhan as a symbol of love and protection. “The soldiers who guard our nation without concern for their own lives deserve the respect and affection of every citizen,” the collector stated.
This initiative from Chhattisgarh is a moving reminder of the nation’s deep connection with its armed forces, showing that the spirit of Raksha Bandhan goes far beyond familial bonds and touches the soul of national unity.
