Chief Electoral Officer Holds Divisional Meeting on Preparations for Special Intensive Revision Programme

Jaipur : A meeting was held on Tuesday under the chairmanship of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) at the State Secretariat to review preparations for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of photo electoral rolls and other election-related activities as directed by the Election Commission of India.

The meeting was attended via video conferencing by the Divisional Commissioner of Jaipur Division, all seven District Election Officers, and all Electoral Registration Officers.

CEO Mr. Naveen Mahajan instructed the district election officers of Jaipur Division to effectively implement the Special Intensive Revision Campaign 2025. He emphasized that in order to strengthen democracy and ensure transparency in the electoral process in Rajasthan, it is crucial to focus on comprehensive training, public outreach, monitoring, and document collection.

Mr. Mahajan stressed the importance of training election personnel for the success of the electoral process. He directed District Collectors to ensure that the main objective of the campaign — enrolling every eligible citizen in the voter list — is met.

He further noted the need to provide basic orientation training to BLOs (Booth Level Officers) and said that efforts should be made to resolve queries at the BLO level itself. He also suggested setting up help desks at ward level in municipal corporations, manned by responsible individuals, to ensure the general public does not face any inconvenience.

The Chief Electoral Officer directed that Booth Level Agents be appointed promptly in coordination with all political parties. He also emphasized that the rationalization of polling stations should be carried out by considering the number of voters, distance, accessibility, convenience, and availability of basic facilities.

Notably, on 2 July 2025, all nominated Master Trainers, Deputy DEOs, and PROs were trained via video conferencing. Between 3–15 July, training was provided to all BLOs in small batches. On 16, 18, and 21 July 2025, 271 master trainers from all districts were given specialized training.
