‘Sadanira’ Exhibition is a Cultural Effort to Sensitise Society Towards Rivers and Water Sources: Chief Minister Dr. Yadav
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav stated that in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision, the state government conducted a 90-day ‘Jal Ganga Samvardhan Abhiyan’ from March 30 to June 30, 2025. This statewide campaign witnessed extraordinary public participation, with local citizens actively contributing to water conservation efforts. Over 2, 30,740 ‘Jaldoots’ (Water Volunteers) registered to help preserve rivers, water sources and water structures.
The campaign achieved remarkable success by meeting its targets. A total of 84,726 farm ponds, 1, 04, 276 recharge pits and 1, 283 Amrit Sarovars were constructed in Madhya Pradesh. Notably, Khandwa district ranked number one in the country among water-conserving districts, and Madhya Pradesh secured the fourth position among all Indian states.
The Chief Minister was addressing the gathering after inaugurating the exhibition ‘Sadanira’ in the Central Hall of the State Assembly. The exhibition showcases the key achievements of the Jal Ganga Samvardhan Abhiyan. CM Dr. Yadav performed Deep-Prajjawalan to inaugurate the exhibition. On this occasion, Assembly Speaker Shri Narendra Singh Tomar, Urban Development and Housing Minister Shri Kailash Vijayvargiya, Public Works Minister Shri Rakesh Singh and Leader of Opposition Shri Umang Singhar were also present.
River Conservation: A Call for Scientific Responsibility and Cultural Awakening
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav remarked that this campaign has established Madhya Pradesh’s unique identity on the national stage and has become an inspiration for other states. The exhibition encapsulates the extraordinary accomplishments of the campaign and serves as a cultural initiative to raise awareness about rivers and water sources. He said, “Rivers are not just streams of water—they are the foundation of our memories, traditions and lives”. “River conservation is not only a scientific responsibility but also a call for cultural consciousness”.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav visited the exhibition displayed in the Central Hall and the Four-Lane Open Campus of the Assembly. The exhibition will remain open for viewing by Assembly members throughout the session.
Veer Bharat Nyas Showcases the State’s Aquatic Diversity
The exhibition, organised by Veer Bharat Nyas, displays the achievements of the Jal Ganga Samvardhan Abhiyan, the traditional Bawdis of the state and aquatic life as the vital essence of water ecosystems, Amrutasya Narmada, and major water structures of Madhya Pradesh as seen
through satellite imagery.
Participating organizations include the Department of Public Relations, the Council of Science and Technology, the Directorate of Archaeology, Archives, and Museums and Barkatullah University.
