Mamit MLA Pu H. Lalzirliana Hosts Sampoornata Abhiyan Award Ceremony and Inaugurates ‘Aakanksha Haat’ Exhibition

Mamit : Mamit MLA Pu H. Lalzirliana presided over the Sampoornata Abhiyan Award Ceremony held at Siamliana Hall, Mamit, and also inaugurated a one-week exhibition titled ‘Aakanksha Haat’, showcasing various locally made products by community members.

In his speech, the MLA extended greetings to the attendees and emphasized the importance of today’s event for Mamit’s continued progress. He said the Government of India is working rigorously towards achieving Vision 2047, with the goal of making India a developed country by 2047. As part of this mission, states and districts across the country, including Mamit, are contributing actively through development initiatives such as the Sampoornata Abhiyan.

Although Mamit is categorized as an Aspirational District, Pu Lalzirliana noted that the district is making steady progress in key areas such as education, healthcare, and infrastructure development. He particularly appreciated the efforts of frontline workers, stating that their dedication is helping Mamit improve and move forward. He also encouraged students and the youth to continue striving for excellence, as they are the key drivers of a developed and progressive society.

The Sampoornata Abhiyan was implemented across India’s aspirational districts and blocks between July and September 2024, including Mamit District and Reiek Block. The initiative focused on six core indicators:

  1. Health & Nutrition (3 indicators)
  2. Agriculture (1 indicator)
  3. Education (2 indicators)

Under this program, all line departments were assessed on their coordinated implementation efforts. Mamit District and Reiek Block successfully achieved 100% saturation in 4 parameters, earning them a Bronze-level recognition.

In addition to the awards ceremony, the MLA inaugurated the ‘Aakanksha Haat’, a local product exhibition. Alongside the exhibition, free medical check-ups, SBI banking services, and Aadhaar-related services were also made available to the public. These services will be accessible at Siamliana Hall, Charkawn, Mamit from 28th July to 1st August.

The award ceremony was chaired by Pi Carolyn L.B. Khiangte, Additional Deputy Commissioner. Pi Lalramlari, SDC of Mamit, presented a progress report before the awards were distributed to 29 frontline workers in recognition of their contributions. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Pu Lalnunfela Chawngthu, SDO (Sadar).
