Pithampur – MPs Industrial Growth Engine, Make in MP Ecosystem Taking Shape: CM Dr. Yadav
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that the ‘Make in India’ initiative serves as a mission for Madhya Pradesh, and under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the State Government is committed to achieving all its development targets within the next two-and-a-half years. The Chief Minister said addressing a public gathering after inaugurating the expanded manufacturing facility of LiuGong India Pvt. Ltd in the Pithampur Industrial Area of Dhar district on Wednesday, the government has opened every avenue of support and incentives for investors looking to invest in the country. He said, describing Pithampur as the ‘growth engine’ of Madhya Pradesh’s industrial economy, that the industrial township has played a pivotal role in translating the incentives offered under the Make in India–Make in MP initiative into tangible investments. The Chief Minister said, “We are making every effort to attract more investors to Madhya Pradesh and are developing a complete supporting ecosystem for ‘Make in India–Make in MP’ in Pithampur.”
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the State Government is developing Pithampur as a major hub for green industries, electric vehicles, advanced manufacturing and global exports to meet future industrial requirements. He added, “We are creating an integrated industrial value chain here, spanning automobiles, electronics, engineering, pharmaceuticals, textiles and technology.” LiuGong Machinery Co. Ltd. President (Chairman) Shri Zheng Xin welcomed Chief Minister Dr. Yadav by presenting him with a bouquet.
Government Delivering Development on the Ground
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said the present government believes in delivering development on the ground rather than merely making announcements. He described Pithampur as not only Madhya Pradesh’s but also the country’s ‘Manufacturing Gateway’. The Chief Minister said that the establishment of another major global manufacturing unit in Pithampur within a month reflects growing investor confidence in Madhya Pradesh. The Chief Minister said, congratulating the LiuGong Group and its management, that the new facility would give fresh momentum to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Make in India, Make for the World’.
State Witnessing Rain of Development Along with Monsoon
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav remarked that along with the monsoon rains, Madhya Pradesh is witnessing a ‘rain of development gifts’. He said that the State had hosted five landmark industrial events in just the past ten days, reflecting the rapid pace of industrial growth. The Chief Minister said that Madhya Pradesh has attracted nearly ₹10,000 crore in Foreign Direct Investment over the past two years, reflecting the growing confidence of global investors in the State. He said LiuGong’s decision to expand its production facility in Pithampur is yet another testament to this growing investor confidence.
LiuGong Expansion to Generate Over 5,000 Jobs
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that LiuGong is among the world’s largest manufacturers of heavy earthmoving equipment. With nearly two decades of operations in Pithampur, the company’s expansion will increase its annual production capacity from 3,250 to 7,500 machines.
The expansion will create 600 direct jobs and generate more than 5,000 indirect employment opportunities through ancillary industries and the supply chain. With the commencement of production at the new facility, the share of components sourced from Indian industries will increase from 40 per cent to 60 per cent, giving a significant boost to the State’s MSME, engineering and auto component sectors.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav further informed that during the first six months of 2026, Madhya Pradesh received investment proposals worth more than ₹76,862 crore, creating employment opportunities for over 82,000 youth. Narmadapuram alone accounted for investment proposals worth ₹11,500 crore. He said that over the past six months, land has been allotted to 166 new industrial units involving investments of ₹41,950 crore, which are expected to create nearly 50,000 additional jobs.
Pithampur Emerging as Major Industrial Hub
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Pithampur has emerged as a major hub for the auto components industry, attracting investments of nearly ₹1.5 lakh crore and generating employment for 4–5 lakh people. He recalled that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of the country’s first PM MITRA Park in Dhar last September. The integrated textile park, he said, will prove to be a boon for cotton growers in the Malwa and Nimar regions. The Chief Minister said, “The new manufacturing unit inaugurated today will write a new chapter in Madhya Pradesh’s development journey”.
Industrial Development Gaining Momentum
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the State Government observed 2025 as the Year of Industry and Employment. During the year, Regional Industry Conclaves were organised at district and divisional levels, followed by the Global Investors Summit (GIS) 2025 in Bhopal in the presence of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Union Home and Cooperation Minister Shri Amit Shah. He said that GIS 2025 attracted investment proposals worth ₹30 lakh crore, of which projects worth nearly ₹10 lakh crore have already begun taking shape on the ground. Foreign investment in Madhya Pradesh is also increasing rapidly, with countries such as the United States, the United Kingdom, Japan and Germany showing keen interest in investing in the State.
Major Industrial Projects Strengthening State Economy
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said the State Government is leaving no stone unturned to accelerate Madhya Pradesh’s development. He highlighted several major industrial initiatives undertaken in the past six months.
The Bhoomi Poojan was performed for a Smart Industrial Park at Satgarhi near Bhopal on July 6, which is expected to generate 15,000 jobs. A world-class convention centre with a seating capacity of more than 10,000 people is also being developed there at a cost of ₹150 crore.
The Bhoomi Poojan was performed for a ₹2,500-crore defence manufacturing facility in Shivpuri, on July 5, where missiles capable of striking targets up to 1,000 kilometres away will be manufactured.
Construction is also progressing rapidly on PepsiCo India’s second state-of-the-art production facility in the country, being established with an investment of ₹1,250 crore. During the State’s Farmer Welfare Year, the facility will process potatoes into value-added food products, ensuring better returns for farmers.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also noted that industrial projects worth ₹1,554 crore, comprising more than 38 industrial units, were recently inaugurated and had their foundation stones laid in Neemuch district.
New LiuGong Plant to Strengthen Construction Equipment Manufacturing
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said the new LiuGong manufacturing unit, established on a 20-acre site with an additional investment of ₹272 crore, will give Madhya Pradesh a new identity in construction equipment manufacturing. In its initial phase, the plant will have the capacity to manufacture 6,500 construction equipment units annually, primarily excavators. The machines produced at the facility will play a vital role in the manufacturing sector, reduce dependence on imports, and generate more than 5,000 employment opportunities.
LiuGong Executives Welcome Expansion
LiuGong Global Vice President Shri Lyu Guobing described the inauguration as a landmark occasion for the company. He said the new manufacturing plant inaugurated by Chief Minister Dr. Yadav would generate local employment, strengthen the economy of the State and the country, and emerge as a major global centre for research and machinery manufacturing.
LiuGong India Country Head Shri Varun Vijayvargiya said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, industrial development in Madhya Pradesh is progressing at a rapid pace. He noted that LiuGong India began production in 2009 and is now manufacturing world-class construction equipment while contributing to the objectives of Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat.
