Teej Festival 2025 at Bikaner House Showcases Rajasthani Culture, Cuisine, and Craftsmanship
New Delhi : The week-long Teejotsav 2025 being celebrated at Bikaner House in New Delhi has become a vibrant hub of Rajasthani culture, drawing large crowds with its stalls featuring traditional food, handicrafts, and apparel. The festival is being held to mark the occasion of Rajasthan’s celebrated Hariyali Teej.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Om Prakash from RUDA (Rural Non-Farm Development Agency) shared that artisans from various districts of Rajasthan, associated with RUDA and Rajeevika, are showcasing their hand-crafted products. These include hand block-printed bed sheets, suits, sarees, bangles, jewelry, traditional mojris, and more.
Food stalls serving authentic Rajasthani delicacies were a major attraction. Visitors relished dishes like dal-baati-churma, moong dal, onion and dal kachoris, ghevar, and ker-sangri ki sabzi, bringing the taste of Rajasthan to the capital.
Traditional Games Add Enthusiasm
To enhance the festive spirit, traditional games were organized on Monday, as part of the festival which continues till July 30. Government officials, employees, and guests took part in the competitions with great enthusiasm. A tug-of-war contest saw two teams each from men’s and women’s categories with 14 participants per side. The women’s teams were led by Ms. Megha and Dr. Manjit Kaur, while the men’s teams were captained by Mr. Gagandeep Singh and Mr. Ashish Sharma.
In another popular event—the lemon and spoon race—winners Ms. Deepa, Agrima, and Siddhi were awarded for their performance.
Winners of both competitions were felicitated by Additional Resident Commissioner Mrs. Anju Om Prakash, Joint Resident Commissioner Mrs. Rinku Meena, and Additional Director Mrs. Sharmila Gupta.
Adding to the cultural vibrancy, the Rajasthan Tourism Department hosted a Rajasthani cultural evening where folk artists from across the state performed traditional music and dance, leaving the audience mesmerized.
The Teejotsav 2025 continues to enchant visitors with its colorful celebration of Rajasthani heritage, cuisine, and artistry in the heart of the national capital.
