20th Installment of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Released
₹553.34 Crore Transferred to the Accounts of Over 25.47 Lakh Farmers in the State

Raipur, Aug -2 025 : The 20th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) has been released. On this occasion, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi digitally transferred ₹20,500 crore into the bank accounts of over 9.7 crore farmers across the country through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) from Varanasi (Uttar Pradesh).
Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai virtually attended the programme along with farmers from Chhattisgarh from the auditorium of the Horticulture and Forestry University, Raipur.
Addressing the grand farmers’ gathering, Prime Minister Modi mentioned that since the inception of the PM-KISAN scheme in 2019, ₹3.75 lakh crore has been directly transferred to farmers’ bank accounts across the country.
The Prime Minister emphasized that the government is relentlessly working towards the prosperity of farmers, and PM-KISAN is a powerful example of this. He further informed that the ‘Pradhan Mantri Dhan-Dhanya Yojana’ has been launched for the agricultural development of backward districts with a provision of ₹24,000 crore.
PM Modi also highlighted that significant investments are being made in irrigation schemes to ensure water reaches farmlands, thereby boosting productivity. He mentioned that the ‘Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana’ (Crop Insurance Scheme) acts as a protective shield for farmers against natural calamities and crop losses.
Stressing the economic empowerment of women, PM Modi said that over 1.5 crore women have become ‘Lakhpati Didis’, achieving half of the 3-crore target.
Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai extended greetings for the holy month of Shravan and prayed to Lord Shiva for the continuous prosperity and welfare of Chhattisgarh. He informed that through the 20th installment of PM-KISAN, over 25 lakh farmers in Chhattisgarh have received ₹553.34 crore.
Expressing gratitude on behalf of the state’s people, CM Sai thanked PM Modi for honouring farmers’ hard work by providing them with financial strength. He stated that the government is dedicatedly working for farmers’ progress in line with “Modi’s Guarantee”.
CM Sai said the state government has fulfilled its promise to the farmers by providing a procurement price of ₹3,100 per quintal for paddy, thereby significantly enhancing farmers’ income. Within ten days of forming the government, ₹3,716 crore of pending bonus payments for two years were cleared, reinforcing farmers’ trust.
He highlighted that under former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s leadership, the Kisan Credit Card (KCC) scheme was launched, transforming agriculture into a profitable business. Earlier, farmers had to borrow at high-interest rates, but now they can access zero-interest loans through KCC, making agriculture easier.
CM Sai mentioned that rapid work is being done to increase the irrigated area in the state. He asserted that the backbone of Naxalism in the Bastar region has been broken, and projects like Bodhghat, and connecting Mahanadi and Indravati rivers are underway to make Bastar a prosperous and irrigated region.
A provision of ₹10,000 assistance per hectare has been made to promote pulses and oilseed crops. Similarly, landless agricultural laborers are also being provided ₹10,000 as financial aid.
The Chief Minister stated that the government is not only focusing on farming but also on strengthening allied agricultural activities like fisheries, dairy, and animal husbandry. The ‘Dairy Animal Distribution Scheme’ has been launched as a pilot project in six districts, implemented through the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB), which will enhance milk production and ensure farmers get fair prices.
CM Sai also emphasized promoting the cultivation of millets (Shri Anna) and traditional crops like Kodo, Kutki, and Ragi, enabling farmers to fetch better prices in the market.
Union Minister of State Shri Tokhan Sahu said that under PM Modi’s leadership, the government is continuously transferring funds directly into farmers’ accounts through this scheme. He added that with Modi’s leadership, concrete roads have reached every village, and farmers now get interest-free short-term loans through Kisan Credit Cards.
Agriculture Minister Shri Ramvichar Netam stated that through this 20th installment, ₹553.34 crore has been transferred to the accounts of over 25.47 lakh farmers in Chhattisgarh. He added that under CM Vishnu Deo Sai’s leadership, the state is adopting modern agricultural equipment and technologies with the vision of “Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan, Jai Vigyan, and Jai Anusandhan”.
The ‘Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan’ has been widely implemented in the state, where agricultural scientists, officers, and staff interacted with over one lakh farmers, providing information about improved farming practices and their benefits.
On this occasion, beneficiaries were also provided with agricultural equipment and cheques of subsidy amounts under various schemes.
The programme witnessed the presence of MLAs Sunil Soni, Purandar Mishra, Guru Khushwant Saheb, Indrakumar Sahu, Raipur Division Commissioner Mahadev Kavre, MD of Chhattisgarh State Seed and Agriculture Development Corporation Ajay Agrawal, Vice Chancellor of Indira Gandhi Agricultural University Dr. Girish Chandel, and Vice Chancellor of Mahatma Gandhi Horticulture and Forestry University Dr. R.R. Saxena, along with a large gathering of farmers.
