On the Auspicious Occasion of Sawan, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai Performs Rudrabhishek of Lord Shiva, Prays for Prosperity and Peace of the State
Raipur, August 2025:On the sacred occasion of Sawan, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai participated in the grand Kanwar Yatra organized in the Gudhiyari area of Raipur. He performed Rudrabhishek of Lord Bholenath, offering prayers for the prosperity, well-being, and welfare of the people of Chhattisgarh.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Sai mentioned that thousands of devotees embarked on the Kanwar Yatra today, carrying sacred water from Maruti Mangalam Bhavan, Gudhiyari, to the Hatkeshwarnath Mahadev Temple for Jalabhishek. He emphasized that such events keep Chhattisgarh’s glorious cultural traditions alive and reflect the deep-rooted faith of the people. The Kanwar Yatra, held during the month of Sawan, symbolizes the devotion, faith, and dedication of Shiva devotees, who walk for several kilometers to offer water to Lord Bholenath.
The Chief Minister highlighted the profound religious and cultural significance of the Hatkeshwarnath Mahadev Temple located at Mahadev Ghat in Raipur, where large numbers of devotees gather for Jalabhishek. He remarked that the land of Chhattisgarh is a unique confluence of devotion, faith, and culture. Festivals like the Kanwar Yatra not only preserve traditions but also convey the message of spiritual awakening and social harmony.
On this occasion, Speaker of the Legislative Assembly Dr. Raman Singh, former Governor Ramesh Bais, Agriculture Minister Ramvichar Netam, Women and Child Development Minister Lakshmi Rajwade, Member of Parliament Brijmohan Agrawal, Raipur West MLA Rajesh Munat, Raipur South MLA Sunil Soni, Raipur Rural MLA Motilal Sahu, Raipur North MLA Purandar Mishra, former MP Abhishek Singh, Raipur Mayor Meenal Chaubey, along with a large number of devotees, prominent citizens, and representatives of various social organizations were present.
