Yogi govt to provide subsidized agricultural equipment to farmers

Lucknow, Aug 2025 : In a bid to promote transparency and boost farm productivity, the Uttar Pradesh government headed by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, is set to provide subsidized agricultural equipment to farmers through an e-lottery system. The Agriculture Department will conduct the lottery under the supervision of District Magistrates across all 75 districts on August 7 and 8.

Bookings for agricultural equipment have already been made via the departmental portal under various schemes, including Promotion of Agricultural Mechanization for In-situ Management of Crop Residue and Sub-Mission on Agricultural Mechanization. Bookings for Mini Oil Mill Extraction Unit and Tarpaulin have been made under National Mission on Edible (Oilseed) scheme.

According to the Agriculture Department, the e-lottery process will be conducted across all 75 districts on August 7 and 8. To ensure smooth execution, District Deputy Agriculture Directors have informed the selected farmers and members of the District Level Executive Committee. Details of the DLSC members, headed by the District Magistrate, must be uploaded to the departmental portal by Wednesday.

The PDF file of the office memorandum of the committee will also be uploaded to the departmental portal. The Department of Agriculture has issued instructions that a capacious location must be earmarked at district level to accommodate the maximum number of farmers who can witness the e-lottery. The process will take place with the utmost transparency as per the wish of CM Yogi Adityanath. Arrangements for installing large screens will also be made at the e-lottery sites.

Farmers selected through the e-lottery will receive SMS notifications with details, including the last date for bill submission. Those placed on the waiting list will also be informed. The security deposits of farmers not selected in the e-lottery will be refunded within six months.

In line with the Yogi government’s emphasis on transparency and farmer welfare, the Agriculture Department has urged all farmers who booked agricultural equipment on the portal to actively participate in the e-lottery on August 7 and 8.
